Most bands were average, nothing special in my opinion but disturbed was
pretty good getting the crowd worked along with hatebreed.... now on to the
important stuff.....SYSTEM !
Again they started the show as usual, Daron singing "Soldier Side", they did
play "Holy Mountains" and "Der Voghormya" (armenian prayer) which was awesome.
Shavo saw my flag and he saluted me in the middle of the performance and I
was so happy. they played SO WELL with SO MUCH energy I'd never seen Serj dance
like that before...his hair was in his face because he was moving so fast and he
was dancing like no tomorrow....I couldn't believe it was the same Serj that
lots of people were bashing and saying he has no energy...because from today's
show, he obviously has a WHOLE LOT of it....Serj was dancing SO much, along with
Daron
.
Shavo was mostly to his side of the audience, pointing at people and stuff,
and sitting by John's drum-kit...and that Herry Perry guy (sorry if I got his
name wrong) was there too....John was so good as well I cant believe how he did
it!
My 2 friends had backstage passes through some connections that will take very
long for me to describe so I was so excited for them....after the concert I
found them along with a whole bunch of other Armenians that I recognized from
the community...and all of them had backstage passes....John's family that lives
in Toronto were with them too, and they were going backstage after the show. as
soon as they were going in, one of John's uncles spotted me and my 3 friends
(because of our huge flag) and he felt bad that they were going backstage and we
weren't, so he came to us and he's like "hey, do you guys wanna come backstage?"
and were like OMG YA n he's like "OK come"...so he goes to the security guard
and he's like "they're family...they lost their passes, but their with us so let
them in" so they DID!!! and I was so THANKFUL 'N' GRATEFUL for him being so nice
to us...and I thanked him over and over and he was like no problem, I felt bad,
I saw your flags so I decided to ask!
So then we all as a group go On the ACTUAL STAGE it felt sooooo cool all the
other fans were looking at us and I waved my flag and screamed "whoooooo" then
the stage cleanup people were like ok u have to get off the stage because were
working here...so all of us went back down and went through some other exit that
took us backstage...and John's uncle gave me a sticker that allowed me to go
there...so I put it on my shirt and got through! I couldn't believe it.
Then, JOHN was there and he comes to us and I'm like HEY great show! and then
I asked him do you remember me? (as I met him in Calgary) and he's like "no
remind me," then his bodyguard was there and he was like OH I REMEMBER YOU!, we
told him and John like "ohhh yaaa" after that my two friends took photos with
John and he stayed around then went to talk with his family...
Then Shavo comes out and I'm like:
-"Shavooooo", "did you see me?"
- Shavo: "ya where were you sitting? I saw two flags"
-
Me: "I was the one
right in front of you, 2nd row"
- Shavo: "oh ya ya i saw you then!"
- Me: "do you remember me? and I'm
armenian"
- Shavo: "you know what, I smoked a little too much"...then he laughs and
we all laugh and he's like I have to be honest with you!" then he pats my back
and we take a picture with him and he's like "ok, I have to go on my bus
now....and maybe ill be back" and were like "ok byee!"
SERJ came after.....he
was signing 2 of my friends things and taking pics....then he came to me and my
other 3 friends and he shook all of our hands and told him "Serj you played so
well, well done thanks so much" and he's like "oh thank you!" and then when he
shook my friends hand he had such a cute laugh because they shared some awkward
moment that's hard to explain....he was talking to these 2 guys that went with
him to the Washington rally so he was quite busy...I waited to ask for a pic
with him but he started walking with the 2 guys so I didn't wanna be rude and
chase him so I just stayed....my friend also asked Serj to sign his flag but he
said no he cant because its too holy.. he didn't want to disrespect it so he
signed some other things instead!
Meanwhile, John was outside talking with us! he's so nice...he had his 2
uncles, some family friends and some cousins with him we were all in one big
circle and John was in the middle which was weird after a while so he was like "I'm
gonna have to turn and talk at the same time so my back doesn't face you guys".
Daron comes finally and were like "Daronnnnnnn!", he told us "ill be back" he goes
on his bus and like 15 minutes later he comes back out...it turns out Daron
remembered me from Calgary and Edmonton! I didn't even ask him anything and he's
like "hey I remember you! and so too did his bodyguard...and he said 'where's
your dad?" as last time he met my dad and I said "ohh hes at home" ..
So, after
I
was trying to take a picture with him and my friend but it wasn't working I tried
n' tried n' tried but it didn't work then Daron said "this is way too long for me to
stand so close to a guy!" and we all laughed...it turned out the camera was on
'record' mode so he's like "great now you just caught that whole moment forever"
then when he was signing things lots of people were taking pics of him and the
flashes were hurting his eyes so he said something like "please please no
flash...my eyes are like mickey mouse at Disney Land"
The wardrobe/personal assistant guy that I met last time in Edmonton
was there too and he remembered me and asked where my dad was. He was riding a yellow ATV again...and
I also met Sako this time
around, he came to me and said hi how are you in armenian....
on our way out we see Shavo barbequing with his friends from other bands so we
tried to go say hi but the security told us to leave so were like ok n we go
wow that was so long, I'm sorry but I have to explain either all or nothing!
