8/8/05 Show Phoenix, AZ Review .. Goddamn! |

[Uma Thurman / Pulp Fiction] Goddamn!! I say, goddamn!! [/Uma]
System of a Down opened with 'Soldier Side', and closed with 'Sugar.'.. with a shitload of songs in between... I *think* they sang almost all Toxicity, Mesmerize, AND System of a Down (Self titled.), plus some songs from the upcoming album: Hypnotize, and 'Mr. Jack' from their Steal This Album album.
The band didn't fade out for a second. Shavo ran from side to side, jumping on amps and speakers. His stamina was really incredible.
Daron looked so mature now! He sang along with Serj perfectly. Serj played a dual piano in two songs I think.
John... JOHN!! He was VERY impressive! He is like the bastard child of a perfectly oiled and tuned ford big block, and a machine gun. WOW!!
sTiK Review
"First 'Bad Acid Trip' played, they were ok. Then next up was 'The Mars Volta', they played good but I didn't like them in the first place and it was WAY too loud. The floor was dead, no one was moving.
Then at about 9:15PM or so, SOAD came out. Everyone went crazy, everyone stood up and stood up for the entire concert.
'Soldier Side' started just as I had expected and they went straight into 'BYOB'. Everyone went wild, half the people left the seats and went to the floor. lalalalala and so on.
Then the next big thing was when 'Forest' came on. Daron told us to sing along and he started singing then stopped completely and we all sung a few verses.
A few interludes, "When I was a kid Superman told me to kill rock and roll and eat the little people or something like that.".
"In America, theres yellow people, and red people lets all come together and be PURPLE people."
A few nice solos and one very nice solo that wasn't a song at all. A few times everyone had their lighters out and were singing along or clapping or whatever. The show lasted about a hour and a 40 minutes or so. I couldn't see them that well but I could see them enough to know who they were.
During all of 'Mr. Jack', Shavo was just sitting on the ground.
Hmmm, what else can I say. I don't know what else I could have possibly asked for except better seats. They played amazing better than any recording or video I had seen before, if not even better then the studio recordings. It was basically flawless."

yeah i feel bad for you for saying 'yellow people' i was in the pit shit was it crazy.. at first i was so close by at teh front then the next second i was a lil behind with the blended in pit/seats people :[ lol
i filmed a lot of the shit n took some pictures but i wish i was in the middle so the sound wouldnt have been so crappy

I was at that show!!! It was my fourth show and by far the best! I've seen Korn and Mudvayne and Linkin Park, and if you add all those together you get half a SOAD show!!!! Someone wanted a set list? Soldier Side, BYOB, Revenga, Know, Needles, Deer Dance, Suggestions, Psycho, Chop Suey, Kill Rock 'n' Roll, Sad Statue, Violent Pornography, Mr. Jack, Cigaro, This Cocaine..., Bounce, ATWA, Forest, Lost in Hollywood (everyone whipped out their lighters), Question!, War?, Prison Song, Dam, Aerials, Toxicity, Science, Suite-Pee, and Sugar. 28 SONGS!!!!!! TELL ME OF ANOTHER BAND THAT DOES 28 SONGS PRACTICALLY NON-STOP!!!! ........ that's what I thought!!!

OMG THEY WERE AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY KICKED ASS ON THAT STAGE! I NEVER WANTED THE SHOW TO STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CANT WAIT TILL THEY COME BACK OUT!
