System Named as Best Alternative Band

System Of A Down snatched best alternative band at the MTV Music Awards.

The band sat shocked as there name was announced and as they walked onto the stage they passed the microphone each refusing to talk. As Serj said something that MTV Censored Daron swung the award around.
Serj then passed the microphone to Daron to speak, Daron walked away throwing the microphone into the crowd and the band walked off stage.

"Civilization is a fucking failure. Lets get together and decide what we wanna do next, together with love and peace. Thank you" said Serj.

Daron had the award at his penis then screamed and threw the mic to the audience!. Later, the band have performed "B.Y.O.B" on the stage.

Congratulations to the band, even though they did look pissed off.

Assley 05.11.05, 21:07	I was watching.. I think it's great that they won. They certainly deserved it more than anyone else there. Serj's message on stage was very true.. it's sad to say it, but it's true. Some of you are saying they think they sold out what whatnot.. I don't think winning an award makes a band become or think they're becoming sold out. A band makes themselves sell out by their actions and how they carry themselves, and SoaD isn't like most bands. They speak their mind and don't care what anyone else says, and they do what they want to do, not "what's in" at the time. I can't see SoaD dying out any time soon. I respect everything they do and they're going to be one of those bands that are remembered yeeeeears after they stop playing music. :)

I couldn't see much so a guy put me on his shoulders, I'm freakin thankful for that! the only bad thing....the crowd was too calm, people looked at me like if I was some lunatic or somethin, ah ah, I couldn't help it, that's the effect BYOB does to me.

Weeela 06.11.05, 21:07	Hahaha, YAY! The thanking part was the BEST. And as "tamara" said, Serj did actually say "I wanna thank those who's DEPORTED us". That's fucking hilarious. A perfect blow in the head for MTV. Fuckers.. About pussycat dolls.. Where did you find out they wanted to perform with system? Hahaha, that's jsut weird. And about Coldplay thanking system, he said "I wanna thank everyone who's helped from system of a down to..." So I guess System has helped Coldplay at some point. The performance of B.Y.O.B. sucked until they came to the ending in my opinion. Serj sounded almost nervous, and didn't sing that good.. maybe he was just not thrilled to perform on the MTV awards... The sound was sucky as well. Daron was great though, bashing his guitar to madness.. probably high. But the ending of the song was fucking great! They rocked the stage as hell! Was the best part of the award! Thanks SYSTEM!

The rest of them seemed angry/were laughing/or didnt care to be there, but hey thats alright with me ! :) Glad they got some recognition for how great they are though!

You'd think mtv would have the courtesy to give them the award at the beginining seeing as they are the best band in the world. How would you feel if you were forced to sit there and watch fucking Borat and Maddona or whatever. Hang on I did that on my own free will.........
