Question! What are the two things I believe every red-blooded American rock
fan should do? Answer: Visit the White House and go see Ozzfest. What is the
difference between these two? I’d go back to Ozzfest.
On second stage, as we were walking in we hear Ozzy. He sounds GREAT!!! His
voice, his words, both spoken and sung – crystal clear. I'll NEVER forget, after
he was done with his set, he says to the crowd, “One more song! One more song!”
and of course, they chant it back a few times, in unison: ONE MORE SONG! ONE
MORE SONG! ONE MORE SONG! ONE MORE SONG!... And, with a shrug in his voice, he
simply replies, “Okay,” like it was no big deal, but, he had to think about it.
Just as we enter, they do their final bows.
Before my review, the one most of you have dreaded, let me just say how pissed I
was that the 200-level seats WERE ALMOST COMPLETELY EMPTY!!! I’m not joking.
From what I saw, there was, 50 people filling them, maybe (but, I couldn’t see
all of them). I couldn’t believe it. This venue was FAR from being sold out.
Lawn wasn’t full, either. Lawn was spacious, but, not empty.
At some point, probably close to 2100, my cousin’s girlfriend is telling me
something, lights go down, audience goes “WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!”, I stop
paying attention to her abruptly. At this point I knew:

Ozzfest St. Louis - July 15th 2006 Review "Full"

(I know you already got one from my friend evil_mistress13, I'll try to put a little more detail in mine like she suggested.)
'It's hotter than a wet pussy in this motherfucker!" was the first of many quoteable Daron comments from this hot but incredibly awesome show. And anyone who says Serj can no longer scream like he did or that he is getting too old to jump, skip and spin and dance was obviously not in St. Louis on July 15th. |

Just got home from two SOAD concerts. Saw them July 11 in San Antonio, Tx at
Ozzfest. This was my first time to see them but I could tell there was not a
good vibe going on that night.
Daron started off with intro to 'Soldier Side',
they went right into 'Attack' and immediately started having sound problems. The
big screen was working just long enough for me to get a look at Shavo looking
pissed off because his equipment wasn't working right. They got the sound
problems worked out, but everyone sounded out of tune. No one in the band spoke
to each other. They hardly talked to the crowd.
Daron did a little
speech about
television and how they always show Girls Gone Wild one minute and Serial
Killers the next. It was pretty funny and it led into 'Violent Pornography'. They
played basically the same set as the other shows. They ended with 'Sugar',
immediately turned around, walked off stage and the house lights came up. It was
kind of a bummer. I was excited that I did get to see them but was surprised at
how much they did not seem to be enjoying themselves.

Let me start out by saying that it was hotter than hell today. We parked, and
went to go wait at the gates. Just standing there was enough to soak us through
completely. Before I get to System, let me say that the other bands that
performed did VERY well. I enjoyed most of them, though I elected to sit down
and save my energy for SOAD.
When it was time for SOAD to go on, I naturally got very excited. Most of the
crowd did as well. The crowd was awesome. There were lots of people there 'Just
for System'. When System came on, all hell broke loose. EVERYONE was on their
feet, except for the couple next to me who made out for about 3 songs then left
to do lord knows what. I don't remember all the songs, but let me see if I can
make some sort of list:
