We get there a little late and miss Between the Buried and Me, and Walls of
Jericho, and I was interested in both of them, but oh well, of course I was
mostly there for SOAD.
I was RIGHT up to the fence for Bad Acid Trip, they were so fun live! I got some
sweet pictures, and my girlfriend and I got our shoes signed by them! They were
amazing.
A few other bands entertained me as well, but most of them were, same breakdown
and saying 'MAKE SOME FUCKING NOISE!' go to Ozzfest and you'll hear that 100000
times in one day. |

I can't believe I actually got to see System of a Down live. I had lawn
tickets, but my friend and I managed to get right up front against the fence
across from the center of the stage. We got there pretty early, so we got to see
some other bands perform. I really liked Disturbed, they were great live and
their performance convinced me to buy one of their CDs. The lead singer really
has a lot of presence onstage. Anyway, after they finished there was a set
change and System came on! |

After
seeing the band three times, the first two with longer sets and one being 10
feet infront of Daron, despite it all, this was the greatest concert of them and
ultimately out of all time.
The day started off early, I figured I would need to make the best out of the 90
bucks of my ticket so me and 3 friends headed down to the Molson Amphitheatre
for the 3'o clock start time. After getting a picture taken to be put on the
future Scars on Broadway website, receiving stickers for them and getting raped
of my water bottles by security (but successfully sneaking in granola bars!) we
settled down to catch Norma Jean. They sucked. The next band was Bleeding
Through and they were respectable.
Unearth was on next, who I was disappointed
by when they were an opening band for Slipknot. However they made major gains
and were a great band, one of their guitarists is the most charismatic and
coolest guy to watch. He was posing for pictures by fans who illegally brought
in cameras, doing beer bongs, pushups and spitting his gum up in the air and
catching it. Unearth was very impressive. Atreyu followed and I had heard much
about them so I had high expectations.

Most bands were average, nothing special in my opinion but disturbed was
pretty good getting the crowd worked along with hatebreed.... now on to the
important stuff.....SYSTEM !
Again they started the show as usual, Daron singing "Soldier Side", they did
play "Holy Mountains" and "Der Voghormya" (armenian prayer) which was awesome.
Shavo saw my flag and he saluted me in the middle of the performance and I
was so happy. they played SO WELL with SO MUCH energy I'd never seen Serj dance
like that before...his hair was in his face because he was moving so fast and he
was dancing like no tomorrow....I couldn't believe it was the same Serj that
lots of people were bashing and saying he has no energy...because from today's
show, he obviously has a WHOLE LOT of it....Serj was dancing SO much, along with
Daron |
