there's lots of little bands that come here , but they're not very much well-known , like for example : a Finish band that plays Cellos as guitars called Apocalyptica came to Beirut two years ago , and my friend lived his dream of seeing them live

I've never ever been to a concert , would be great if Scars was my first
Awean - May 31, 2008 - 11:54 AM
Post subject: RE: European Club Shows Announced!
to youssef: In interviews bands are always asked why don't they play in my country or my city and they always promise to ask their people to do something for it, but usually nothing happens. If someone want to see Scars then fly to see them...

Does anyone know if there's age limit for London's gig, I'd like take my sis with me... Wink

hmmm if you're going to the Camden show (London) i would be sure to take someone with you. Awean you're a girl right? and if you're taking your sister i suggest taking a guy with you too, not because of the music or the place...its just walking around London and using the Underground at night these days isn't the safest thing to do. I REALLY don't want to sound patronising, I'm just saying this for your own safety. Anyone that lives in the UK should understand what im saying, seriously, London in particular has just gone into freefall in the last few years. Admittedly, Camden isn't known for having alot of trouble on the streets, its usually South London but the underground is still pretty dodgy at night. Anyway, i hope you get to go, just stay safe!!! Smile

Currently I'm fighting with credit card problems, I don't have one and I need one to buy tickets, right? scartch
toomerj - May 31, 2008 - 04:53 PM

toomerj - May 31, 2008 - 05:06 PM
Post subject:
your mums debit card should do the trick. if its the same sort of debit card we use over here in the UK then that should be fine? unless its only like a cash card. If she has used it in the past to purchase stuff online it will work fine, make sure they sell to over-seas customers though

I'll probably go on the Train as the Coach journey is killer, I could barely stand up after that one last time Laughing

Where are you traveling from Awean?
silver_ghost - May 31, 2008 - 08:24 PM
Post subject:
It's only 3 ish hours to London for me.

However first I have to find someone to go with, none of my friends are big SOAD/SOB/Serj fans Rolling Eyes

Post subject:
I'm not gonna tell where I live..it's a secret Cool
But obviously pretty far away, I don't know, I think flight is around 3 hours...
I think I'm going alone if they let me enter the plain...if they don't then I'm in trouble. First I have to buy tickets for gig then everything is all right for a while...
Skit - May 31, 2008 - 08:37 PM
Post subject:
Yeah Im traveling alone too, no ones heard of Scars yet so its pretty impossible to get anyone aside from SOAD fans to come.

Awean.. You say if they let you on the plane.. Are you young or just suspicious? If your under 18 or 16 you better check the age limit with the venue first, alot of gigs there are 18+ (Or under 18s accompanied by an adult)...
Awean - May 31, 2008 - 08:55 PM
Post subject:
Both, if I was eighteen they probably wouldn't believe it...
I've tried to check the age limit but there was no sign of gig's being 18+ or 'all ages allowed'
I'd try to find some adult to go with me if that's needed, my half sis lives in uk...
Bounce! - May 31, 2008 - 08:56 PM

I'd need to drive for 5 hours, then take a 10-hour-long plane ride, then probably another hour of driving...ON A DIFFERENT SIDE OF THE ROAD! o_0 I would probably crash and die.

it's me again... with the cards.. I think I should be able to buy tickets with my moms debit card, but I really can't find ccv number..basically I think I should be able to use it, but my mom thinks that it's not gonna work...damn I really need that ticket Crying or Very sad
Skit - Jun 01, 2008 - 07:28 PM
Post subject:
Debit cards are fine, I order tickets all the time with mine.

The underworld is an all ages venue, but they put on 18+ gigs quite often so you younger people are gonna have to check before hand.
You may also need to be accompanied by an adult if your under 16/18.

I'll accompany people in if anyone needs an adult to get in Wink

SOADfans meet up/piss up before the gig anyone?

Skit - Jun 01, 2008 - 08:03 PM

According to the site the capacity is only 500 so I'd imagine tickets will go fairly quick...

The presale will go really quick, because everyone whos interested in the gig will know about the presale and will most likely get tickets that way.

Im at college at 9 so I'll probably be spending my first lesson trying to get tickets Laughing
I'll might buy 2 tickets that way if anyone doesnt get 1 they can buy my second 1 for face value..
silver_ghost - Jun 01, 2008 - 08:19 PM

hmm well I wont be able to get pre-sale tickets early so unless there are any by mid morning/afternoon I'll have to try and get some on Tues.

I still have to find someone to go with though Rolling Eyes

Go on your own?
Thats what I always do when i cant find anyone who'll go with me, why miss a good gig because no-one else wants to go?

... Its different for girls though I guess, you dont really wanna be out late in London on your own...
Awean - Jun 01, 2008 - 08:31 PM
Post subject:
I don't mind being on my own

I'm still afraid of debit cards...should I left then ccv number part empty scartch thank god I have whole morning time to mess up with it, my worst nightmare is that I'm not able to buy ticket just 'cause I live outside uk and have no credit card Mad
Skit - Jun 01, 2008 - 08:35 PM
Post subject:
If you leave it empty it wont let you buy the tickets.
The CCV is on the back where you write your signature, its the last 3 numbers.

It wont matter than you dont live in the UK and Debit cards are fine, like I said earlier, I always use mine online...

I emailed them asking whether there was an age limit and whether i'd need to be accompanied by an over 18 [i'm 17]. They replied "No, you can come on your own, if you like." and i'm not surprised that it's so cheap, they wouldnt charge loads for a bands first ever UK show...plus its in a lil club? lol...omg, best sort of venue...and....we're having our own lil place in history...we were there on their first UK show?!!! woooo!!!!!!!!!!

Thats nothing really, Im really in my music, When the smashing pumpkins played there first uk show since there reunion I paid £125 just for the ticket, plus £100s for trains, hotels etc... Laughing

Im not too fussed about the cost, Its there first UK show and its in a really small venue which I love.

Apparently the venue holds about 500 people, Im expecting it to sell out or nearly sell out, Serjs shows before the album was released sold out or nearly sold out every show so I dont see why scars should be any different..

i was also thinking.....big band (kinda)...first UK show...i wonder if any "celebs" will be there or something...im thinkin along the lines of Zane Lowe...people in the music business that we might recognise etc??

Yeah, you occasionally get people from the industry there plus people out of bands etc..

£300 isnt nothing, but the way I end up paying for gigs makes it seem alot less, if Im not thinking about its fine..

I pay for the ticket and train ticket before hand so what... £100 maybe?
Thats not too much..like 3 days wages for me.

I'll book a hotel for about £100 give or take, but I wont pay for that until I get there, so I have time to save up for that and ultimately forget about it.

Then anything I pay for when Im actually in london goes on my card and I forget its there unless it gets overdrawn.

Basically, if I dont start thinking 'shit I spend £XX on this' then Im fine Razz

edit - yea they might play stuff like 3005 and babylon?!!! was just thinking...we're going to be the first english speaking gig that they will play that (the crowd) has been able to hear their songs properly...and therefore we can sing along and get the vibe of the songs much easier....so we better make an impression on them!!!!

I normally get to gigs at a normal time and still make it right to the front at some point in the gig, i'd probably get their unbelievably early if it was a bigger venue for scars but i can't see it being that hard to rummage your way forward once everyone is in.

DONT crowdsurf to the front, most venues these days throw you out of the venue for crowd surfing.

I'll be outside the venue at 17.00-ish I think, my train gets in at 16.30 so I'll be making my way to the venue after I get to my hotel..

I haven't decided which one yet but i'm gonna be staying in one very close to Kings Cross Station so i don't have to buy another tube ticket the next day, i can just walk to get my train home, there are quite a few good ones in that general area.

I have no idea yet, it should be some cheap but safe place, I'm trying to travel 3rd and 5th day so it's just two nights. Safe 'cause, at the moment, I think I'm coming alone. As far as I know London is huge city, I need a map. And I think I'm going to avoid tourist spots.

yea, get a map and an underground map...you'll be able to find them on the internet.....you're best bet is to buy an all day travelcard (when you get train ticket), so that you can travel anywhere on the underground too....

off topic kinda....on my way home from work, popped into a shop...had a flick through the latest Kerrang magazine....Scars have their own advertisement in there for the gig (as you would expect) and also, Kerrang have also given them a big section on a page in the gigs section, big picture of Daron and an explanation of who they are...and how good the already sound!

Europe isn't one country...it's much harder (and expensive) travel from one country to another than from state to state..
They're still skipping like 80 % of countries...

THE OFFICIAL TOUR DATES THREAD

Ok everyone, SOB are announcing quite a few tour dates now so we're going to have one official tour dates thread to discuss any and all shows happening worldwide.

Please do not post any more threads relating to touring.
You may still post promotions/contest threads relating to shows.
(Such as the current post stickers/flyers around your city to promote gigs competition scars is running)

General chat concerning shows should be posted here.
Reviews must be posted in the review section.

If you're insure where to post, ask me or one of the other mods Smile

I'll find some point for this post soon...

Do you think Scars is going to sold out Oslo's or Stockholm's gig considering that they haven't yet sold out any of those June/July club shows?

Do you think us Londoners should have our own thread to discuss whos going etc?

Its seems to be the europe gig most people are off to, so it might be good to have a thread with a list of everyone whos going, anyone who wants to meet up, etc etc

.. Oh and London WAS sold out, but they brought out some more tickets later on, probably a hundred more or something..

scartch

I think they first shared the tickets somehow for different box offices and something happened... or people ordered their tickets and then decided not to go and tickets returned... scartch

Yeah, London thread would be great, it'll help tidy this thread abit Razz
I'm thinking they initially limited the space to see what the sales figures would be like, then decided to open up another 100 for max capacity seeing as the sales are strong.

I think a london thread would serve a purpose more than general tour banter.
We'll be able to keep track of whos going, who (if anyone) wants to meet up, advice on where to stay etc etc.
