Yeah, that's right. ex-KGB bastards let communists be the only opposition party because in the eyes of western world opposition should exist. Why communists? That's easy. Because Russia would never come red again. Because too many mistakes were done by communists in the past. Because all education programes now are telling us that USSR was bad and the democracy is good. The number of leftwingers will decrease, so in 5-10 years we will have no opposition at all.
That's why communists still exist as an opposition. |

i think the Communists will still exist since the poorest people in Russia are getting poorer, and alot of people have lost out in social welfare, healthcare, council housing etc
i saw a documentary on the change, and the middle classes were happy but all these poor people are suffering terribly
like they don't have any less money, just in the USSR the state provided them with their basic needs (food, water, energy, jobs, healthcare etc)
also don't some people look back on the USSR in some fondness since back then it meant Russia was one of two super powers? |

Well, we still have missles anyway
You're right. Middle class is happy, poors have no rights, 0.05% of population owns 90% of money and other resources. State still provides us with 100% free healthcare, but ofcourse there is no free food, water or energy. Level of unemployment is still very high. And yeah, communists are the only serious party to talk about this problems. |

^ ah well the programme i saw showed that those with AIDs and HIV no longer had state clinic they could go to
but yea Russia has become the total opposite of what it was was, since in even the worst country (USA)its about 10% control %80 of wealth, Russia has become worse
and well yea spoe there are still lots of missiles, but i thought alot of them had expired?
as well as most of the Nuclear subs being de-commissioned?
or am i wrong? although some of them were pretty crap like that K-19 you know the one they made the film about with Harrison Ford |

| both communism and capitalism have their advantages and disadvantages, and both of them can create a well-fueled economy/military with good leadership. one problem, however, the USSR didn't have good leadership, and lately, neither does the United States. |

Well, we still have enough missles to destroy the Earth several times. Moreover we've started to produce new tipes of them. That's for sure.
And you're right with HIV. People with it don't have any state supported medical help.
It seems that our current government really sucks. And yeah, I've got to say that I'd better live in USSR than in Russia. No, I'd better live in Russian Empire, like Russia used to be before the revolution. With Tsar and all other attributes. Anyway I have no choise |

it's foolish to base the effectiveness of different types of government based on a movie. that could have been a much better response, partisan.
as a resident of a capitalist country, i.e. the united states, i can easily pinpoint the problems. for one, the government is rampant with corruption and subversion. may i remind you of the iran-contra affair? the manhattan project?
the thing that pisses me off about the iran-contra issue was the fact that george h.w. bush pardoned oliver north and all the other people involved in selling bombs to the iranians. again, corruption problems. when you make achieving the presidency into a competition, every new leader is a new risk.
what do you all think? |

^ i think Marx still rings true in that the ruling elite are in the business of protecting their own interest rather than that of the state or the people
the saddest thing is that they can get away with lying due to third party control of media, that the bourgeoisie control government and private media therefore the media is basically controlled by the people in power subversively
therefore making it very easy to lie, distort facts or omit entire events
and yet those same people will criticise places like Cuba or Venezuela for having state run media which is bias- typical hypocrisy of the capitalist!
and this media is insane in it's lies, take the example of Armando Valladares, the man committed terrorist attacks against the people of Cuba was arrested and suddenly the media in the US and elsewhere claim that he was arrested for denouncing communist, and that he was a disabled poet
yet the Cuban administration had proof he was lying about being disabled and that he had committed the crimes
and yet even to this day the capitalist media lies about it
