It seems that Serjs Political ramblings have finally worn too thin for many, now that hes left System he doesnt have the shield of invincibility that he once had to speak his mind.
Whilst I love the guy, and I like his new solo album, in the u.k we do not wish to be told what to think. Especially left wing liberal politics which really wear thin on us these days.
It was this very reason ,plus some robotic stage dancing that led Serj to be booed off during his set at Sheffield Arena on November the 12th!
The songs themselves were fine and dandy and played out well and his singing was great, the problem lay with the simple fact, people especially in the u.k do not want to hear anti war, anti bush, anti establishment sentiments over and over, it gets contrived.
The album itself lyrically is predictably leftist politically, but once more, as I did with Soads genius I completely ignored most lyrics to get to the great music. But there are times when they try to force these ideas into you that you get annoyed, and Im afraid Serj will start to find out that if he wants to be enjoyed on his tours hes got to tone down all the speeches and political ravings, because no-one actually cares what he has to say about that, we just want to hear his great music!
It was a shame to see him get booed off, almost surreal.
