I was a little surprised that there wasnt already a thread here about jj abrams new film. ive had enough of the boards at IMDB, all hell has broken loose, so i wanted to see some intelligent discussion, and soadfans is the first place i thought of! ^_^
im soooo hyped bout this film, the monster looks like some sort of lizard according to the new trailer, and there are a few vids out on youtube about an attack on an oil rig. the viral marketting of all this has been phenomonal! (oh btw, im a film studies student, so although yes, i am a bit geeky, im looking at it academically also  )
im jus wondering what people's opinions of the film are, whether youre excited or think that it will suck and also what you think about the viral marketting aspect? its 20 to 2 in the morn here so im going to bed, i just hope that this stays troll and spam free unlike IMDB. ¬_¬ |

| This movie really intrigues me, I like the way they're marketing and advertising it, the trailers are great, and just leaves you wanting to see it, and find out the full story. I really enjoy most of J.J. Abrams work, so I'll definitely be checking this out, and hopefully I won't be disappointed. |

| Too much hype that I'm also afraid it won't be as good - I've set rather high standards for it. I still can't wait to see it. But I'll wait to hear what you all say about it before I see it. |

I live in Britain so it comes out on the 1st of February it think, so im gonna go see the film anyway, but i think ill read a few reviews first just to see!
Im interested to see how they work all the backstory into the film. Theres been a helluva lot revealed story wise, to do with oil drilling and stuff like that, but ive heard the movie isnt going to be that long.
im still impressed though, the characters even have pages on myspace! |

Just went and saw this movie today and all i can say is...
ITS AMAZING
I like the perspective in the movie, its different and it really increased the suspense throughout the movie. |

really glad to hear someone liked it, ive heard many complaints about it, still not going to stop me from seeing it though! i kinda ignored spoiler warnings though and ive seen the monster, but im wondering what your views on it are. the western world's godzilla? |
