It was a chilly day in downtown Minneapolis as we lined up around 9 am. Luckily we were able to wait in the lobby instead of shivering in the cold. We -me, boyfriend, and sister- met a few people, made some friends, did the whole pre-concert thing. But you know who I was waiting for.
Fast foward--we've been in line now for about 9 hours when the doors to the main floor opened up and we rushed in; I scored a spot right in the front center with the other two behind me. We waited for an hour until Against Me! took the stage. I'd never heard of them, but they put on an impressive show.
So they end, and the set is torn down and behind it all is Serj and the F.C.C.'s equipment. The stage hands cleared the area and the lights dimmed. From nowhere comes Serj's unique and unmistakable voice; as he sings the F.C.C. took the stage. And finally, the singing stopped and a figure in white appeared. Begin the screams of joy.
Serj and the F.C.C. tore into the concert with The Unthinking Majority, equipped with Serj dancing and the F.C.C. as amazing as can be. From there on, the night is a slight blur as my emotions were running at their peak. However, I do have a set list for you:
The Unthinking Majority
Empty Walls
Feed Us
Lie Lie Lie - Serj made his Borat + Romeo and Juliet intro.
Saving Us - Serj on the guitar!
Baby
Sky is Over - Personal favorite.
PTLPTA - I can't remember the whole intro, but it ended with, "Well I say fuck them!"
Honking Antelope - Serj on the piano!
Beethoven's Cunt
The Foo Fighters then did a great job fighting foo.
And while I was unable to meet Serj -and believe me, I tried!- I did walk away with an F.C.C. drumstick, guitar pic, a new hoodie, and lots of pictures which will soon be uploaded. Until then, trust me when I say this concert was worth every penny spent and every second spent waiting. |

| I was also at this concert, but up in the nosebleeds. i was gonna post a review but you've covered about everything I was gonna say. I think the PTLPTA intro actually ended with "Well I say fuck that kind of hypocrisy'. Plus in the middle of PTLPTA I like how he added "Get Sexy" before he started dancing. i was sad he didn't play Sounds Of War, but that just made me that much more grateful to SubNoiZe for sharing so i could hear it at all (Thanks again SubNoiZe!). I also wish he would have played Money, as this was the second time I saw him and he didn,t play it either time.(oh well, third time's the charm!) I don't know if it was just where i was sitting, but Serj seemed really quite til right about the end of Feed Us, but after that he was totally hearable. I'm pretty sure that the guy seated next to me was pissed, cause i sang all of Serj's songs with him, but wtf, i paid for my ticket and could support whoever i wanted to. all in all, i agree with sadstatue0424 that the concert was worth every penny. |

The radio stations said there was no way they were going to play it.
Now they're playing it everywhere, every day.
