Just for you, I will TRY and review Reading 03, as I was there. I'll be as detailed as possible but it was quite a while ago...

All right won't bother with the other bands I saw that. It was geared up for System, the only band I gave a damn about seeing that day. Me and three friends (we'd lost the other four during either the bottling carnage of Good Charlotte's set or Sum 41's set). There was a huuuuuuuge wait, but then... a sound. A intro... thing, sort of guitar but... not. The stupid grin I wore for the rest of the day emerged at this point.

Then from NOWHERE, Shavo, Daron and John were onstage. The screams of the festival crowd were deafening. John pulled a 1-2-3-4 on the cymbal, and to my utter shock, Daron started playing NEEDLES.

1 Needles. I thought I'd have to leave almost straightaway, the crush of 50 odd thousand people behind me was almost overwhelming. Serj ran on stage just in time to yell the first line and was, frankly, a god, resplendent in his beige top, shades and all new big hair. Loved it, and was so amazed they opened with such an usual tune.
2 Deer Dance. No time to breathe in between, this flowed straight from Needles. Awesome. by the time the chorus kicked in, I'd already lost all my friends. Didn't really care to be honest Smile Also noticed Daron had grown a big beard and looked like Ringo Starr and laughed.
3 Jet Pilot. Again no gap, and again it was supreme.
4 Chic N Stu. Ah, it begins. "OH MY GOD IT'S CHIC N STU!!!!" I yelled during the intro and threw myself abotu five rows forward despite already being bereft of nearly all my energy. 50000 people, all yelling about pizza - wonderful. Instead of playing the bridge after the quiet Serj bit, Daron got to sing something about girls with remote controls. Confused I wa,s but wasn't bothered, because that interlude led into...
5 FOREST. I didn't even know they PLAYED Forest EVER. I almost died of excitement when the riff kicked in. and the Woo! on the end of each bridge line... sublime. Found one of my friends at this point when she threw herself on me, and I finally relented to move back a few rows.
6 MIND. LEGEND. Couldn't believe they played this either so again, uberhappy! Was immense.
7 Chop Suey! One of my friends later told me how he sang this whole song with his hand on his hand. It was beautiful.
8 Bounce. I genuinely have no memory of this. Only friends and bootlegs convinced it was played. I honestly don't remember it at all.
9 BUBBLES. ULTRA RARE, ULTRA GOOD!!! At the time one of my favourites on STA!, so I went ballistic. It was so cool, and Serj sang some weird noise instead of the Armenian line!
10 Aerials. Soaring, beauteous. Daron made the whole crowd sing the 'Aerials, in the sky..." lines and it was amazing.
11 P.L.U.C.K.. YES. So awesome it hurt, and for more reasons than simply it's one of SOAD's best. They got to "'All in a System...." and everyone yelled 'DOOOOWN!" EXCEPT SERJ. What the deuce?
12 Psycho. Blended magnificently into P.L.U.C.K., starting from the first vocal point. It was crazy to hear so many people screaming the chorus, and Daron played a nutty outro thing, the end of which was the intro to...
13 A.D.D. Another STA! rarity, and it was every bit as soaring and well-recieved Aerials. A 50000 strong FUCK YOU to the government if you will!
14 DDevil. Surprising addition - John played a drum intro for this and I thought it was going to be X Smile It was crazier than anything else before it.
15 Suggestions. CLASSIC. At this point I got involved in a lyric competiton with some guy standing next to me, and spent most of my time in between songs leaning on my friend's shoulder - my voice, legs and neck were in agony, but it was good agony.
16 Toxicity. Oh yes... Went suitably mad, even started an arm-swaying movement in the first verse. I decided I was going to going fucking nuts in the bridge, and even took my glasses off (yeah I know, hardcore). but...
17 Streamline. The intro played in place of Toxicity. It was cooooooooool! Daron fucked the solo big time though, that was funny!
18 Mr Jack. Took me aggggggges to realise that thry were playing an extended intro and not some random thing. Went nuts for this one instead Smile
19 War? Legendary. The speech... ohhhhh... And Daron played Sorry Not sorry, a then-unreleased Amen song. Just.. wonderful.
20 I-E-A-I-A-I-O. Ha I won my lyric competiton on this one. It was really good but by this point I was so tired I could barely stand up, let alone headbang etc Smile
21 Suite-Pee. Could barely hear the intro properly - I thought it was Fuck the System Very Happy One of system's best, as always. FUCKER!
22 Sugar. Hell yeah! The only bad thing was that I knew it would be the last song...
23 Prison Song. But it wasn't! I'm sure we're all familiar with how these two used to be amalgamated into one, but unless you're there you really could not appreciate it so much as I did. Of course, everyone yelled I SIT!, but were wrong Wink Prison Song owned, simple as that. At the end, the last part of Sugar was played, and by the time it ended, everyone there knew they had just witnessed one of the best shows by a band at the peak of their powers.

I needed a drink after all that, so we left to get drinks and ate crushed crisps and sandwiches next to a van selling lukewarm water whilst we watched Metallica round the night off.

System owned Metallica that night though. I'm really glad I went to that festival, because I don't know how I could see System perform any better than they did that evening. Show rating? 11/10. Exceeded all expectations and then some. The fact I'm one of comparatively few people to see a few STA! songs live that sweetens the deal.

System concerts, you mean? Just that one sadly. They never come anywhere near me - that was my reward for acing my secondary school exams, and I was very lucky.

If you mean concerts in general, I'm going to see 36 Crazyfists for the 3rd time in two weeks, and that's gig no. 31 since November 2001 Smile
