Man, I had this whole contest thing all sorted out and I was so into it, but I've been busy all this month and I only got the first part of my remix done
It was going to be a Metal Remix of Deuces with guitars and stuff, If anyone wants to hear what I've done with it, heres the link

@youssef: I just used Garageband (program for mac) but on a PC Audacity would work jsut as good (free). It's not so much about the program as it is about the equipment. The program only matters for how well you want to mix and edit it.
I used my Digitech RP250 Multi-Effects pedal for the guitar. all the RP's (RP150,250 and 350) can plug via USB into the computer, which makes recording way better instantly, plus one of the options on the pedal is a noise gate which just makes it that much clearer.
Same for bass, although the bass was just done on my standarg guitar (one of the effects on the pedal makes it sound like a bass)
For vocals I just used the Microphone that comes with Rock Band for the Xbox 360... it's a Logitech, and it aqually works quite well. I used to used a Platonics headset that was More Expensive than ALL OF ROCKBAND and it doesn't sound as clear as this one does |

Relax it has to do with how I recorded mine anyway... besides it's not like anyone else is posting theirs
And I'm sorry I forgot about the RP50. I've only ever seen ads for the 150-350... it doesn't look like the 50 can plug into the computer like the others can :\
You can but cables that go from 1/4" plug to USB, but I've had trouble finding em' |

The talk between mattyk and youssef is fine, its about the song and straight to the point, but the talk between youssef and solidkennedy should have been in PMs.

I tried , but because I have experience in these things , I can tell you that you can't just be given two songs and be expected to make them connect together , there has to be a common element , like tempo , or beat or something !
I'll upload my They Say Remix some other time
The main problem with yours was the timing when the two songs came together, all you had to do was do a time stretch on one of the tracks to get it in time with the other, it wouldnt be much of a tempo change so it wouldnt be noticeable anyway.
mattyk, Yours was one of my favorites from this contest |

@Guitaristchase:
WOW! I loved the Deuces metal remix. Are you going to finish it? If you had finished, you probably would have won! |

well Skit , there actually aren't two songs
It's just They Say , with a drum beat from my collection , and if you notice , it doesn't stop anytime in the song , which means the original rock drums ,and this hip hop-ish beat , are almost identical , but yeah , I do feel the timing problem now that you mention it
and as a criticism from me : I think I overdid it with the effects , did I ?
edit : you can find my remix on the next page please |
