it affects the gays."
As I said it's my opinion on the subject. Why do you want them to get married in church then, it doesn't really affect you either if i'm not mistaken.
In the bible it very clearly states that the religion does not welcome gays, it's very simple. I think it's wrong to go against what the bible says when you're a christian. (which I am not btw, and I am NOT anti-gay either.)
hey, for all you know, i may be packing my bags to move to cali and marry my lesbian lover bertha.
and while it doesn't affect me, i believe these people have a right to marriage.
and if im not mistaken, im pretty sure the bible is a book.\
"I think it's wrong to go against what the bible says when you're a christian."
not every gay is christian. so they wouldn't find it wrong to go against the bible.
and i doubt the christians that live by the bible have any plans on marrying there gay lovers.
Why would you want to marry in church if you're not religious at all? Another example of christianity becoming more and more of a trend and going far away from what it used to be.
As far as I know gays can marry, just not in church. At least they can in Norway (for convinient reasons like if for example your partner dies and he owns your house, you have no right to take it, his family has, and you gotta go through shit loads of stuff like papers, meetings, that stuff) |

who says they will have a church wedding?
maybe they want to do it at a relatives house, park...etc
and im not really marrying 'bertha'. i was just trying to make a point.
These Ads are getting ridiculous.

Dammit rainbows, that post scared me.
I just wanna say, I'm glad it's legal for them, because this bullshit about 'I don't support gay marriage, but civil unions is ok... ' it's bullshit, because they're supposedly not discriminating, but giving them every right to live as a couple except for being married.
Stupid zhit. |

I have gay friends.
Some really nice guys, and the girls, eh, are just obsessed with sex.
Thing is, I dont think the nice guy gay guy ever actually hooks up with another gay guy. I think its just some guy on a sexual rompe.
These nice guys always get burnt, and I've never been a friend with one of the sexual rompe guys, so I cant compare to much.
Nice gay guys, that i know, just dont really like other nice gay guys, except for sex. They never want to date them.
They do want to date that sexual rompe gay doode though.
I just havent seen a real relationship from the gay friends I have, girl or boy.
I havent seen enough to think its more than sexual desires to be honest.
So in conclusion, I think gays are just like straight people.
I know of two couples who are older and gay, and lasted the route.
Thats just as much as straight people to be honest. I dont know many that have lasted the route.
I suppose in the end, I dont support marriage at all. Its usually just about sex.
Straight or Gay.
If sex wasnt the determining factor, and it was all about love, then I'd give it two thumbs up. |

Marriage isn't only about sex!
I am not married and I am no virgin...and I know a couple who are quite young, married, and rarely have sex.
For many people its the ultimate way to express your ever-lasting love for one another. |

Marriage is law thing, rights, privileges that you get when you marry some one is main reason to get married, I think in some cases at least.
If you feel like your love is not going to make your relationship last without marrying, it's not even worth it. |

Absolutely, Awean. The legal protection and benefits of marriage can be very important. Two very dear friends of mine died of AIDS years ago. John C. died in 1989 and Marc E. died in 1992. They lived, loved and suffered together. Just a couple of days after John's memorial service, his siblings and in-laws showed up at Marc's door with a policeman, and took a bunch of the stuff from Marc's apartment. Some of it was John's, some of it was Marc's. Marc was left with just a couple of pictures of his recently deceased partner. The family never told Marc they were going to do this. They never asked his permission to come sort through John's remaining stuff--and there was absolutely nothing Marc could do about it. Marc was furious and really hurt. The policeman actually held Marc down physically while the family ransacked his apartment.
Also, one thing that expedited my marriage was that my husband was suffering from an old injury and the doctor wouldn't even perform an MRI without insurance coverage. We had planned on marrying anyway, but we sped it up so that I could put my guy on my insurance and have his medical needs met. |
