Ah.. dang. I was bored. I put this up here before, then I took it down. I don't know, it freaks me out to be putting writing on here. But, I'm working on my writing skills... and I borrowed System of a Down *sorry guys*... they will be my puppets.

DANCE PUPPETS, DANCE

Anyway... Like I said, I've needed to write, but have had no one to write about. My own characters have hidden somewhere... curse them. But, people apparently enjoy System of a Down here, so why not spread some lovin.

----------------------------------------

He squeezed his eyes closed tightly and pushed his fists against his ears. The noise was becoming unbearable, the lights blinding. They were coming for him, their footsteps were left unmuted by his bloody knuckles. He had run with them, watched them fall, heard their cries for him to keep running, keep running and not look back.

Ashamed, he obeyed their last pleas and kept his feet pounding on the asphalt.

Now he was stuck, trapped against the metal of the empty train car, and they were coming to get him. He would be ripped from his freedom as they were, dragged into the back of the van, faces bloody, eyes terrified, hope lost.

He pushed himself further into the corner of the car in a poor attempt to hide himself. They were shouting now, shouting at him to put his hands up and get out of the car or they would be forced to come in and get him. He choked on his own vomit. This was it, this was the end. It was the end for him, it was the end for them.

He remembered hearing Shavo going down first. He fell with a shout as his ankle rolled beneath him. John went back to help him off of the ground, but the dogs were coming. He had stopped for a moment to see John sling Shavo over his shoulder, crying for everyone to keep moving, they were coming.

They were coming.

-----------------------------------------------

Yea... there it is. At least part of it. I don't know if this story will make any sense, but I've been reading books like 1984 and Handmaid's Tale, so I know it can happen somehow. Orwell and Atwood worked it out, maybe I can too.

*vomits with embarassment* ekk

Yep. Next part. I realize that I stopped at a bad spot, so just read the last one and keep going. Bah.

--------------------------------------------

Serj was beside him now, sucking each breath in as if it were his last, telling him to keep going, no matter what happened. So he did. He blinded himself, he made himself deaf, nothing was attached to him, and all he was doing was running. All that there was was him and his burning lungs. There was no Serj, there was no John, there was no Shavo, there were no soldiers, there was no time. It was him, only him.

He didn’t remember what happened after Serj left his side. The dogs may have gotten them, the soldiers might have caught up with them, he didn’t know.

They had somehow run him into the train yard, unbelievable since it was miles from where they were when they received the call to run. He didn’t even know that he could run that far, for that long. Fear will do strange things to you, he thought as his breath hitched. He wiped his eyes, very strange things.

They were outside, surrounding him, and he heard them counting down. Apparently his ultimatum was running away from him. Tentatively, he uncurled himself and crawled to the shaft of light streaming in from the cracked door. Holding out two fingers, he stuck them out into the open. Peace.

The counting stopped, but he was unaware if he had stopped it or if they had reached the end. Taking a chance, he slowly looked out into the red, white, and blue explosions.

It took a few seconds for his eyes to become adjusted to the lights. Then he could see. He saw a silhouette, he saw a man on his knees and another man standing over him. Then he saw the gun.

He heard the standing man speak, telling him to come out and nobody would get hurt. Nobody would be hurt…

He lowered his head to the floor of the car and felt his sobs wrack his body. There was nothing left, the system had broken down and was taking innocent people down with it. Soon he would be left to the corrupt, and their fates would be left to paranoid hypocrites with too much power to do anything worthwhile.

“Daron…”

He opened his eyes and looked again into the light. Broken words were floating toward him, pleading with him, comforting him. It was a voice that knew it could do nothing. A broken heart crying out for him.

So he stood, knowing what he had to do. He raised his hands to save his family, and stepped fully into the light. Immediately he heard gun rise to meet him and felt the sorrow of a man on his knees.

He was brought down onto the ground by waiting hands. His hands were pulled behind his back and the cuffs were slapped to his wrists. Serj was being dragged to his feet and led back to the black van. Daron looked to both of the men on either side of him. They were both young, probably not old enough to drink legally, and here they were. They were taking his life from him.

As he was being pulled along, Serj was being thrown into the back of the van by the large man with the gun. The boys holding Daron pushed him in, not caring that Serj was still trying to collect himself off of the floor. Daron landed on top, drawing a sharp cry from the man underneath him. Quickly Daron rolled off of him and into the benches that lined the wall of the van.

The door slammed shut and they were left alone. The car glowed with a florescent light that came from the roof and illuminated every bruise and cut. Shavo was sitting in one corner, John beside him doing whatever he could to wrap the swollen ankle. Daron pulled himself onto the bench opposite of the two, then helped Serj up beside him. With a sigh, Serj let himself lean against the wall as he rested his head in his hands.

eh. I'm tired. But here's this last part, I don't know when the next will pop up though. Like alot of other crap, this part was floating around my computer, and here it is, now on this site. a vicious cycle if i ever did see one.

------------------------------------

An hour passed and the road still hadn’t stopped beneath them. The four of them had resolved themselves to silence, wondering on what had happened, and what would happen. A week ago, the world fell apart and suspicions rose. Laws were changed, the constitution suspended. The right to assemble and freedom of speech had been frozen, a consequence that would be soon lifted, they had been reassured. A curfew had been set and television channels were filled with recurring messages of reassurance and hope. The United States had fallen apart over night with the attacks committed by radicals, and surely the next Great Depression was soon to begin. Suspects were taken in to custody. Anyone considered a threat to the nation was silenced, and if not silenced, taken to quarantined towns surrounded by fences and guards.

Many people had been taken, the list was growing. They were not alone. Daron looked around. They had been lucky to stay free for this long. After the crisis, they had done what they did best. Stand up and scream.

Daron’s eyes snapped open when he heard Serj whisper. What was he saying?

“I’m sorry…”

John was the first to open his mouth. “What?”

“I’m sorry. If we would have left sooner… If I hadn’t said anything or pushed you guys to say anything…”

“No.” Shavo reached over and pulled Serj’s hands from his face. “Don’t say that. You didn’t have to convince us to do anything, we would have still done it if you hadn’t-”

“I’m sorry…” he sighed again, cradling his right side with his left arm. He leaned against the door and closed his eyes again.

Shavo looked for John and Daron for help. “Guys…”

Together, Daron and John held their sleeping band mate upright as Shavo lifted his shirt. Serj’s torso jerked when Shavo’s fingers brushed the large black bruise that had formed across his ribcage. Gently, Serj’s shirt was lowered and Daron pulled Serj’s head into his lap, guilt wrapping itself around his throat. He quietly whispered an apology to Serj, who did nothing but mumble in his sleep. They had all been awake for days on end, waiting for Rick to call them and tell them that it was okay for them to leave the studio. Daron sighed heavily, glad that one of them was finally able to rest. He looked at John and Shavo’s faces and saw that they were soon to follow. Finally, he closed his eyes.

The day the nation collapsed was the day they had all decided to give themselves a break. Daron, of course, was objected to the idea, preferring to spend the rare break alone in his house, but they had all convinced him to pile into Shavo’s car with them. They didn’t know what they were going to do, they just drove with the Shavo’s iPod hooked into the car, the volume turned almost all the way up.

Shavo was driving, Serj in the front seat dancing to the latest song by Madonna. Daron laughed as Serj began to sing along, getting most of the words wrong and missing pitches. “Shut your mouth if you don’t know the words, asshole!” He heard John scream over the radio, “You’re ruining the song!”

Serj tossed his head back with a smile, then punched the next button with his thumb. He laughed hysterically and pointed to John and Shavo when Tiny Dancer began to play, “Shavo has the song!” Happily he began to sing louder than Elton John, changing the song’s words. “Blue jean bay-bay, LA lay-day, he was a seamstress for our band, scary eyes, the faggot smiles, wish he could marry but he’s too gay!”

John leaned over Serj’s chair and pulled him into a headlock as they all began to sing ‘John is Gay’. Shavo laughed as he watched Serj’s face twist as he pretended to choke, “John! Stop raping Serj in my car! I just had it cleaned. Wait until we get back home, nobody will care then.”

“No! My innocence! Take Daron’s innocence, leave me mine!” He rolled the window down and screamed at the man in the car they were passing, “Help! Rape! My purity is at stake!”

John snorted and sat back in his seat, “What are you talking about? You’re the complete opposite of anything resembling even a hint of innocence! You and your little friend have been everywhere. Shavo told me,” his words dissolved into laughter before he could continue.

Serj stuck out his tongue and rolled up his window, “At least I can get mine up. This window has more testosterone than you do! See look, it goes up and down and up and down, all on command!”

Outside their window, a train was going in the opposite direction, going on forever. When he saw it, Shavo pointed and laughed, “Hey, John! It’s a train! Hold your breath, you might get lucky with an actual woman tonight!”

“That’s in a tunnel, douche,” John said as he grabbed Shavo’s head and shook it.

“Hey, wherever you get your jollies, dude. I won’t judge.”

They all laughed as the man driving beside them sped forward with his finger up. When his window was even with the front passenger seat window of Shavo’s car, Serj slammed is face against the glass. He puffed his cheeks out, crossed his eyes, and stuck his tongue against the window.

“Aw, dude! You’re messing up my window!” Shavo slapped the back of Serj’s head.

Serj sat back and rubbed his sleeve against the window, doing nothing but smearing his spit around. “Look, it’s still pretty. Wow, that guy knows sign language really well. Shavo, that guy wants to play sex games with your va-jayjay.”

“You’re watching too many chick shows, Serj. And I think he meant you.”

“Hey, I’m not the one with woman parts. Oh look, another guy to mess with.” He waved happily, “Oops pissed him off. Who would get angry with someone for waving? He’s an angry soul that needs a hug.” He pressed his body against the window as if trying to give the man a hug. “If our paths should ever meet again!” He began dramatically, but was cut off by Shavo turning the radio back up.

“You’re such a girl.”

“No, I’m a man. But you would already know that because you have a secret peephole that you look through when I’m in the bathroom,” Serj fired back as the car beside them slowed down and moved behind them.

“I bet you enjoy that. John does too. I read it in his diary last night.”

“While you were waiting for him to get done ‘freshening up’ for your first night as an official couple?”

Daron leaned his forehead against the window, tuning out the escalating voices in the other seats. He was having fun with the guys, but he would still rather be at his home alone. He closed his eyes, running poems through his head and moving his fingers on the imaginary guitar in his lap.

He kept his eyes closed until he felt John’s fist grinding into his shoulder. Apparently they had stopped to get something to eat before continuing on. Serj angry because this particular joint didn’t look as clean as it should.

“I feel like I’m going to get syphilis by walking through that door,” he said, his hand reluctant to touch the door handle, “John, why are you a fatass that has to eat every two hours?”

John was about to shout back, but he was shushed by Serj when his phone rang, “Hallo.”

“Is that your lover?”

Serj waved his hand angrily, “What? Slow down…”

They all stepped closer, trying to catch Serj’s side of the conversation. His speech was getting faster as his eyes were growing larger. He gave a short goodbye as he slapped his phone shut.

“Serj?”

“Get in the car. We have to get to a TV.”

Shavo hurried over to the driver’s seat, “Serj, what the hell happened?”

Once they were all in, Serj turned, “The White House is gone. We have to go.”
