Resolution is the size of the video in pixels, bitrate is how much data per second transfarred in the video. They both realy on eachother.
If you have the same bitrate in 2 videos with high and low resolution. The high resolutioned video will have better quality. And instead of fighting with empty words against eachother, I created some video proof for you guys!
One in "High" and one in "Low" resolution.

Im not really in to this argument, but the guy(s) who think resolution doesn't matter is totally wrong. Proven by my videos.
love ya

that proves nothing man. You have chosen a lowres resolution where you can't get anymore quality out of it which means that the bitrate is way to high for such a resolution.
now before you guys start to talk even more bullshit, let's just differentiate a bit.
- every decrease of the resolution is a more or less visible loss
* one the one hand the video compression uses the same colour data for several pixels which are next to each other
* in other cases some pixels might be shaded individually (it depends on the video)
every time the second case is true, you have a loss, regardless of the bitrate. So brother, if the source has the doubled resolution, you have a fucking loss. But that does not mean that it's very visible.
But if the source has doubled resolution AND a BITRATE that is not really appropriate for such a high resolution (1500kb/s is not pretty much for HD resolutions), there's a lot of video compression going on. That means that the HD resolution source could look much better. In the end you don't have a significant loss if you downsize the video, but you still have a loss. If you have an extreme bitrate of let's say 10000kb/s it's much more likely that you will see the difference between the downsized video and the original source.
But there are more factors coming into play. It all depends on how good the compression codec works. DivX for example is quite good. The result is that that the resolution plays an even more important role.
But increasing the resolution does not bring anything because there's no available data for the new pixels. That means the codec simply takes the colour of one pixel and shades the new pixels next to it with exactly the same colour. |

Yes it proves? He STATED that a video in low res with same bitrate was SAME quality as a video with high res. And THATS what I proved it wasnt. You are talking about things I didnt say anything about because I wasn't DISCUSSING that.

| Thanks for clearing it up, I was pretty off too. That irks me because I purchased my video in that resolution. Whatever though... I guess if it's soooo bad I can always remove it~ |

no one (including brother) ever referred to such an enormous decrease of resolution as you have shown us. It's about HD resolutions in comparison to to the "almost DVD" resolutions. |

Yeah, but here's how I see it and here is how I assume Scars sees it: They put their videos all over the web for download/viewing, so therefore it's no big deal. They don't put full versions of the album up for download (or so I think) and they don't put the bonus tracks up at all (or so I think).
I think if the management puts it up themselves already... why can't we? |
