Okay, I've been noticing this for pretty much a year.
There's rarely ever warnings before somebody gets banned, or "spam marked", or suspended.
I noticed that when I got suspended all that time ago, I didn't get a single warning or anything. I was completely shocked, like "what in the mother of fuck is going on here?" It would have been nice if I would have gotten a warning that I was on the road to suspension, I would have butted the fuck out.
Also, Daltonxi wants me to put him in here. He didn't get a warning at all, he claims. Now, yeah, it was kind of obvious he was going to get banned with all the spam. Most of it would have made decent topics, if said topics were in the right place. ...especially the one about me being a sexy beast. (haha, kidding, kidding.) Some of them would have been actually okay if they were in the right place.
I don't know if Pickle-Party got a warning because I don't talk to her outside of the forum.
I don't want to start a huge big gigantic shit with anyone here, but, I feel that people need to be warned if they're doing something wrong before said banning. If they persist, then, it's just more morally correct to ban them. If they don't, then, it's just improper to do so. I know it's a little late for me to be talking about my suspension a year ago, but, if I would have gotten a warning, I would have stopped. And I heard about the people who didn't get warnings, and believed there were enough "cases", if you will, to present my point.
Thanks. =] |

| Yeah, I totally agree that Daltonxi did not deserve to get banned. What he did was not against the ToS, the moderation staff, especially Skit, has not taken proper precautions in order to ensure a correct punishment. I think Skit should get fired from his job in my opinion for unprofessionalism. Daltonxi should be unbanned. |

Daltonxi, created 11 threads and 125 posts within 24 hours, insulting, spamming and flaming random members
He was warned before, along with other members, in the Auckland leak thread
Pickel-Party was warned too
Everyone got a warning, but they claim not
and after all, the SOADfans-Team have the right to ban/suspense/delete any member/post without any prior nonfiction or warning if we have too.
You should all read the Rules and the Terms:

Daltonxi spammed the fuck out of the forums, did he expect nothing to happen?
I dont know if he got a warning, but he really didnt need one.
This isnt the first time he's spammed like this either.
I dont know about Dalton, but the user who were spamming that coffee shop thread got warnings, thats why Rainbows_are_gay and Dr.Clock had the spammer warning in there user title.

I don't really understand what needs to stop besides:
a) people complaining that they never get warnings.
b) people ganging up with each other because they've been banned/suspended/titled as spammer {warning}.
c) people complaining that they never did what they got the warning about.
d) all of the above.
And I think what ZAk pointed out are warnings without any of the team warning anyone again. |

Can I tell my opinion?
So far I've understand every spammer/suspended/banned except Alee's but that was probably 'cause I was off for while...
Daltonxi, I first thought that he was drunk or something but I haven't seen anyone creating so many pointless threads while drunk, how anybody could think he would get banned/ suspended after that?
Then the people who got banned 'cause of sob links...
And certain people are not 100% sure what exactly is spamming...

8- No spamming.
Spamming is characterized by the initiation of Threads or Posts that contribute nothing to a Forum, be it off topic or on topic.
Examples include: Empty Posts, Posts with Few words that have no Relation to The Current Thread or Discussion and Those posts that state they are spam, either to annoy, advertise or increase a member's post count.
Resurrecting old forum posts is also not appreciated unless it serves a worthy cause to the forum.
why coffee house wasn't closed at the first place ?
btw am I breaking rule #12 now?
My point was that staff hasn't imo do anything wrong, break anyone's rights etc. And I'm not trying to ingratiate...

it was closed, who told you it wasnt?
they did generate 100 pages of spam within 2 days or less. It doesnt mean we are patient and tolerant with the members that we let go the Rules.
In fact this is the real problem, we usually so patient and too friendly with everyone that we let them little bit spamming, wasting time, post a link here or there, break the rules ..etc
We give friendly warning, many members do lead by example and warn the other member (look up how many members can ask not to double post or not spam or ..etc etc)
I did close the coffee party myself and I did pm the member, not to open it again and she/he apologized in the pm, but yet, after we did agree on this, she insisted to reopen and bitch/spam all over the place, so she got banned
SOB links were clearly illegal, and its mentioned in the Rules clearly no official releases links AND I did post announcement about it as well but still, some people were posting links!! They really deserved to be banned |

I meant that coffee house was open over a week, and mods know that it was there but didn't close it at first.
And I felt bad for staff last week 'cause so many people tried to post illegal links and this stuff and then so many people got banned 'cause of that... but it's good though, people should read the rules (but I feel like most of us don't) |

Yeahh, confession: Daltonxi wasn't the main point of my post here.
He asked to be put on,
But I know from my suspension,
I had never gotten a prior warning that it would lead to said suspension.
I think a definate consideration for a change on the forum could be to drop a simple possibly computer generated PM saying "due to your posts on the so-and-so thread, your account could be suspended or banned. Thank you for your consideration", or some shit like that.
It's not a huge huge change, but it does make a big and courteous difference, and it might make a difference. That's all I'm asking, it seemed like a great idea to me. |

^You know VERY WELL that you had gotten warnings about your spiff with Kambucha_Guy back in the day when you guys wound up suspended.
It does indeed seem like a great idea - to me as well.
That's why we take it into consideration to 'inform' people of their possible suspension/bannings, etc.
Consideration.
Friendly warnings.
By pm and in public.
I don't understand what the problem is here. Really.
Maybe someone else can figure it out. |
