ok now , first of all , let me set the backstory

there is a PBS documentary series called " America at a Crossroads "
and one of the documentaries is called " Dissonance and Harmony: Arabic Music Goes West "

here is the page for it on the PBS website :
http://www.pbs.org/weta/crossroads/about/show_dissonance.html

Quote:
RZA, the imaginative leader of the internationally celebrated Wu-Tang Clan

ok then ?
now , who exactly did RZA work with ?

Quote:
Wael Kodeih (a.k.a. Rayess Bek) is the first Arabic speaking hip-hop artist in the region. His music searches for a lost identity experienced by many Lebanese who have survived the long history of conflict in their homeland.

alright , Rayess Bek's website said this :

Quote:
Rayess Bek was more recently featured in a PBS documentary “Dissonance and Harmony” produced by Miles Copeland for the series “America at a Crossroad”. The film captures the process of Wael’s collaboration with Nile Rogers, Rza from the Wu-Tang Clan and Shavo from System of a Down as well as Rayess live performance at the Roxy. ‘Dissonance and Harmony” will premiere on PBS in the fall of 2007.

the source ( click on "Bio" then choose English ) :http://www.rayessbek.com/

clearly , it was delayed because PBS says it premiers November 2 2008

so you're thinking , Shavo ?

yes , it turns out Shavo was also involved and maybe uncredited in the documentary

and here is photographic proof :

yeah so , I just thought this was interesting and I've never heard anyone mention it before , plus , maybe the documentary could have Shavo in it ? he's not credited though , here is a list of all the musicians who appear in it and I don't see him anywhere :

http://www.pbs.org/weta/crossroads/about/show_dissonance_film.html

poor Shavo Sad

EDIT : photo with RZA:

Awesome, this should be an interesting Video to watch.
We haven't really been able to see that much of RZA and Shavo interacting besides the short Deuces video.
I'm looking forward to this.

Arab hip-hop artists have emerged and continue to spread in most regions of the Arab world, and even all over the world. They all share the struggle with identity as a major aspect of their art, and they express themselves interestingly as they tell their stories. I'm interested to see what Wael has to offer.

not to get too offtopic , but his stuff is good , he's worked both as a solo artist and in a group

well , keep your eyes peeled for November 2 PBS I suppose
I don't have PBS , but I've read ( in my research for this ) that the documentary can be seen by people in the US and Middle East at the same time , and I remember the director said that that's a nice thing so that both can experience this at the same time , so I've heard

I honestly don't think Shavo will appear in it , just RZA , even though we are 100% sure that BOTH RZA and Shavo helped Rayess Bek

no credit for the Shav-man ? Laughing
