The morning sun had soon turned into a shade of purple mist, creeping beyond the clouds. The purple haze seemed to emit its gloomy feeling of despair, as the children of the wizarding school known as Hogwarts made their way from the great hall past the clock tower, waving a hand farewell to the school that had been their home for an entire year. Some to never return, others knowing the visit home would only be for a brief period in which they would soon return to this place they grew accustomed to. A storm was brewing, bringing with it dark clouds that seemed to be following the world like a shadow. No storms today! We mustn’t have any storms, for that would mean the headmaster couldn't make his trip into Hogsmeade Village and hear what would soon become the most historic prophecy in recent history.

As the headmaster passed the students of the school, bidding them farewell, he took an abrupt left, heading to the hogs head bar secluded at the other end of the village. A bored look in his eyes, and a folder concealing papers inside, he continued toward his destination. A spring in his step and a twinkle in his pool blue eyes, Dumbledore knew he should get his meeting out of the way for he had more important business to attend to. After all, why miss a game of wizards chess with Peeves the poltergeist?

Albus Dumbledore was dressed in gowns of sleek blue, silvery stars etched into the fabric, and his half moon spectacles perched on the top of his long crooked nose. His gray beard which was so long, he seemed to have it tied into a loop at the bottom, was bouncing with each step he took. The clouds were drawing in and it seemed each time his foot took him closer to the bar, the later it seemed to become and the closer it was to raining. Of course, he didn't want to attend this meeting in the first place, but who was he to deny chance? Maybe he did need a divination teacher, he thought to himself. Maybe before the end of this meeting Sybil Trelawney could have made a believer out of him. Continuing his steps he knew better of this thought.

As he closed in on the bar, his eyes(behind his half moon spectacles) drew itself onto the sign hanging above the door. It was ratty, rather dirty, and seemed as if termite damage might have settled in long ago. Still, he knew what lay ahead of him as he pushed open the door, stepping inside.

The bar was exactly as the exterior lead you to believe. Tables covered in dirt, glasses that seemed to be free from washing for years and some of the filthiest wizards you could possibly imagine were all inside the not so beautiful establishment. A few eyes, including a cloaked wizard, all looked to the door when Dumbledore stepped inside. A few nodding in respect and a few turning their backs on the wizard, Dumbledore begins to walk to the stairs, leading to the inn located just above the bar. You may be asking yourself why somebody might stay in such a place, right? Well when you have close to zero money, even the rattiest of hotels could look like paradise.

As Dumbledore continued up the stairs, to the whispers of those below, he ran his hand up the banister holding the stairs up. Each step he took creaked with anticipation. Where was he going? Who did he have to see? A question some of the wizards having a drink in the bar were asking too. As Dumbledore reached the top stair, he looked to his hand to see the thick mad of dust covering his palm.

He moved on, heading to a door at the end of the hall when the familiar sound of creaking stairs was heard just behind the wizard. He had no time to dwell, for he was almost exactly where he wanted to be.

His dusty hand gripped the golden doorknob and pulled forward to reveal the inside of the room. Much like the bar, the room was covered in dirt. Dumbledore surveyed the room when he noticed a small, frizzy haired witch with giant rimmed glasses sitting at her desk preparing objects. After a few moments she looks up to see Dumbledore standing before her, causing her to nearly drop her crystal ball.

"Hello Sybil, I am so pleased to finally meet you," Dumbledore said with a smile extending past his half mooned glasses. "I take your travel was alright?"

"Oh yes, yes indeed," Sybil said hurriedly with a smile, taking the headmasters hand into her own shaking it finally.

"So, you are in seek of work, and we are seeking a worker. Tell me Sybil, what exactly can you do?"

"Divination sir, I even have my own crystal ball"

"That I can see my dear Sybil. Please, may you demonstrate?"

Sybil begins to stare into the ball for several moments before turning her head away.

"I see nothing, it's too smokey."

Dumbledore allows a frown to creep into his face, showing his signs of disappointment.

"Well I gue-"

"Wait;" she said, stopping Dumbledore mid-sentence. "I see something."

"Yes?" Dumbledore said at once, both interested and confused.

"Hogwarts is…is in danger," she said in worry.

"I assure you Sybil, our school is quite safe."

Searching for anything, to redeem herself from the statement she just made, all she found herself saying was "Oh."
Dumbledore with a smile across his face, extended his hand toward a nearby chair, and Sybil nodded to the headmaster as he took the seat.

"The gift comes and goes Sybil, you might not even know it's ever come."

"No, I would know headmaster, boss" she said repositioning herself in the chair.

Dumbledore, now standing again, begins to pace the room rather nervously before speaking again.

"These are dangerous times Sybil-"

However before Dumbledore could finish his sentence, Sybil's eyes rolled into the back of her head, and she began to convulse. "Are you alright Sybil," Dumbledore questioned in worry. However, she continued to shake violently. Her glazed over eyes were replaced by cloudy pools of blue, showing no sign of returning to normal. Suddenly, the headmaster realized what was happening. "I only have but a few moments," he thought to himself. Dumbledore pointed his wand directly at Sybil, who was now on the floor shaking until a moment’s pass where she stopped and with a sleek, snake-like voice she began to speak:

"The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies..."

As soon as she finished speaking, her eyes returned to normal, and she looked up to Albus from the floor. Her head, still filled with confusion, looked into the headmaster’s bright blue eyes which seemed to be filled with worry and something else. Something she couldn't quite make out. Dumbledore, finally gaining composure looked away, staring directly at his wand as the smile on his face became more obvious.

"What has happened," She spoke quickly, still confused on how she came to find herself on the floor.

Dumbledore, still looking at his wand glowing blue quickly dug out his first excuse. "You simply fell and hit your head, nothing more." he said, making sure to keep the events that have just occurred to himself for the time being.

"Oh, how very clumsy of me, I do apologize."

Outside the hallway a commotion can be heard. What seemed to be a fight breaking out, Dumbledore opens the oak door to see 2 men holding down a young, greasy looking hook-nosed wizard. The boy has hate in his eyes, an evil grin replacing the fear he should be feeling.

"What's happened here?" Dumbledore quickly asked.

"This boy works for the dark lord! Saw 'em with 'is ear to this door here listening to what you's was saying!"

A look of horror replaced the hope in Dumbledore’s eyes.

"What did you hear, boy?" Dumbledore demanded, however the boy wouldn't break. He simply began to smile wider, knowing he's just heard something very important.

"This boy needs to be transported to-"

Before the headmaster could finish speaking, a popping sound filled the air and at this moment Dumbledore knew the boy had gone. ‘She's in danger,’ Dumbledore thought to himself; ‘But how can she be safe? Where can we put her where she'll always be safe?’ Quite suddenly, the answer hit Dumbledore like a run-away quaffle; Dumbledore steps back into the filthy room and approaches the shabby looking witch with a smile on his face.

"I wish to offer you the job as divination teacher, Sybil."

"You-you do?" she spoke at once, tears developing behind her giant framed glasses.

"Yes, I wish for you to start as soon as possible, you will be safe behind our walls," He said with a smile, secretly knowing the school may be the only way in keeping what she's spoken safe from the evil in which she speaks of.

"I don't know what to say, Professor."

"Please, Sybil. Call me Albus."

"Yes; Of course."

"Now, how about we start with you saying ‘yes’, hmm?"

"Oh, I knew I would get this job, of course I will accept!"

Dumbledore, both annoyed by her responses and delighted at the same time, gave a fake smile. "Great, exactly what I wanted to hear," he stated, now with a sigh of relief in his voice. "We must keep your gift safe Sybil, the things you know deep down are far too great to allow them to wander."

"What do you mean, Albus?"

"What? Oh, nothing, nothing. I just believe a part of your family's genetic gift lie within you. I believe you have the power Sybil, whether you know this or not."

"What has happened," she demanded, looking confused, catching on to the headmaster’s obvious worries. "You look as though you have seen a ghost!"

"No, Sybil. A ghost is something who's had a chance to live a life; this is quite another thing. Something very different, and I am afraid I cannot go on any further," Albus said, eying his wand (which has a bright blue glow on the end of it.)

"Yes, of course."

"I see great things to be coming soon ,Sybil;" Albus said with a smile. "Please, allow the house elves to fetch your things. I wish you to come with me, and I will give you a tour of the grounds and maybe even challenge you to a game of chess.

"But I don't play Chess, Professor."

"Very well, perhaps a licorice snap," Dumbledore said with a smile and a nod. The two began to exit the room together when she noticed the blue glow at the tip of his wand.

"What is this, Sir?"

"Hope," the headmaster spoke at once; "Hope."

The dark blue clouds hanging above the grounds came and went, as the minutes passed. With a giant moon cast upon the ground of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry the only people in sight, walk in the distance hand in hand. Lilly and James Potter fell in love on the grounds of Hogwarts, much to the dismay of Lilly's friend Severus Snape who always loved her yet seemed to never gain that love back. James, with a thin face and glasses looked into the green eyes of Lilly, with a smile on his face.

"You know, something Lilly?" James said, breaking the silence.

"What, James?" Lilly added in, feeling rather loved.

"I knew, from the first day I laid eyes upon you, that we would be together forever." James added in, now looking towards the ground in what seemed to be embarrassment.

"Oh, James I feel the same way about you."

"THAT - is a lie Lilly Evans!"

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN!?"

"I mean, last year you told me how big of a jerk I was... And even earlier this year you told me I was full of myself!"

"I didn't use the words 'full of yourself' James! I just meant you are way too cocky!"

"Maybe I am, maybe I am.. But wouldn't you be?"

"JAMES!"

"Relax, I'm only kidding" James added in smiling, putting his hand onto Lilly's shoulder.

The two love birds, continued walking the grounds of Hogwarts hand in hand, much in love and taking in the scenery of what was taking place before them. Not knowing, a war was brewing around the corner, not knowing that in only a few moments time they would be approached by the man known as Lord Voldemort. Still, right now, this moment seemed to be too perfect for worry. Too perfect to question what was going on inside the very walls they walked outside of, even knowing had they been caught they would have found themselves in much trouble.

"You do know, we are going to be in trouble right James?" Lilly laughed.

"Lilly, you underestimate me far too much" James said reassuringly.

"What do you mean?"

"Something I got over Christmas break, you're going to love it! We'll never be into trouble again."

"What? What do you have James?" Lilly requested excitedly.

At that moment, James pulled a bag hanging off of his shoulder, and proceeded to pull what seemed to be a weightless cloud resembling that of a cloak.

"It's an invisibility cloak!" James added in smiling harder, than he had before, even when Lilly's hand had once grasped his own.

"It's, a what?"

"AN INVISIBILITY CLOAK! We can become invisible!"

"How, did you get it?"

"Who cares how I got it, Lilly I just got it! But we can't be caught with this thing, I don't want to find myself into trouble or anything"

"In trouble? You mean like we're going to be anyway?"

"We won't get in any trouble, as long as we don't get caught! And we won't with this cloak, we'll never be in trouble again!"

"This one looks really old"

"How can it be old? It's in such good shap-"

However before she could finish "James" was spoken only steps behind them. The word sent daggers through both of their spines, soon followed by "LILLY!" in another icy tone. Moments later a hand grasped the shoulder of Lilly, causing James to extend his wand from his waist band.

"Expelliarmus!" James yelled out, causing the dark figure to sail to the ground, a parchment falling from under his arm to the ground below.

"Blimy James! It's only me!" Sirius Black called from the ground.

"You, spooked me you git!" James responded, in a sigh of releif, now helping Sirius to his feet.

"The Marauder's map! help me find it.."

"Lumos" James exclaimed using the light, to search for the map along the newly green landscape at hogwarts. Several minutes had gone by yet still no parchment had been recovered. Just when things seemed lost Lilly's voice screamed in the distance signaling she had found it.

"I FOUND IT BOYS! OVER HERE!" Lilly was waving the map in the air as both Sirius and James looked around nervously.

"Yes, great Lilly. And just loud enough for Dumbledore to hear you, hmm?" Sirius said both annoyed, and laughing.

"We better check, and see where he is on the map." James added in.

The three, using the light illuminating from James wand began to survey the parchment, before all 3 noticed a name that certainly didn't belong.

"What, is Tom Riddle doing here?" James quickly added.

"And, what room is he in?" Lilly asked in confusion.

"Hmm, I can't tell, it's not marked it only says the seventh floor." Sirius said, rubbing his chin which showed signs of hair starting to grow from it. "Wait, a second I think he's inside the room of requirement!" he added.

"The room of what?" Lilly said raising her eyebrows.

"The room of requirement. Sirius and I found it on accident" James said looking to Sirius to finish the story.

"Ah, yes I remember the day like it were only yesterday. We were looking for a place to get away from potions."

"Why would you want to get away from potions? It's such a good class!" Lilly began to defend. "And professor slughorn is such a wonderful teacher!"

"Yes, Lilly we get it. You're little 'prince' is the best in the class, we get it" Sirius added, which seemed to get a negative response from James.

"Anyways" James added in to break the silence.

"I'm sorry Lilly" Sirius said apologetically

"No, it's okay"

"The room of requirement can only be called to somebody in need of something.. Like, we needed a hiding place from potions and sure enough the room was there"

"And what did it turn into?"

"It was a small broom closet actually..Turned out to be a little weird"

"But wait" James interrupted. "What is Tom Riddle doing in the room of requirement? What is he even doing at hogwarts?"

Sirius and Lilly showed they were both thinking the same thing.

"Hey look, Riddle is on the grounds!" James added in almost dropping his wand.

The three all stopped talking for several moments watching the footsteps of Tom Riddle come closer and closer torward the trio.

"Under the cloak!" James said to the two, rushing them both under the cloak when suddenly a voice called for James in the distance. It was too late, Riddle spotted James before he could get under the cloak.

"James Potter! What a surprise" Tom Riddle said aloud. "Where is your little girlfriend? What was the little mud bloods name anyways? Lilly was it?" Riddle added in.

James couldn't help but notice the age in the face of Tom Riddle, how his eyes contained bags, how he showed obvious signs of quit, and even hurt. The boyish handsome features, shown in the photos around the school were replaced by this waxy, almost dead looking person with red eyes and snake like nostrils.

"Yes, Tom her name was Lilly." James added, choosing his words wisely.

"Yes, Lilly. The mudblood, known as Lilly Evans"

"Correct me if I'm wrong Tom, but your father was a muggle correct?" James cautiously spoke. He knew the great power within the blood of Tom Riddle, the amount of hate. However he felt safe enough to say what was on his mind.

"Yes, my mud blood father"

"Which, makes you a half blood?"

The face of Tom Riddle beamed red in anger.

"I guess it would" Tom angrily spoke.

"Ah, I am a full blooded wizard you see, so wouldn't that make me a better critic as to who the better wizards are?" James triumphantly spoke.

"Do, you wish to know the one thing, stopping me from casting you down as we speak?"

"What is that Tom?" James asked, hiding his obvious fear

"I seek your help James Potter" Tom continued on.

Under the invisibility cloak, Lilly and Sirius both read each others eyes, now taking off running toward the castle, leaving James alone with Tom Riddle.

"My, help you say?"

Tom stared into the eyes of James Potter, as James did to him. Moments passed, as neither spoke a word. The night time sounds of crickets chirping, and wind blowing was all that could be heard as Riddle and Potter stood only feet apart.

"Yes, I seek your help. You see, I am forming a group of wizards who know how things should be. A group of wizards who respect the magical tradition in all of it's glory. I like to call them Death Eaters!" Tom reluctantly
revealed. "And I wish for you to become a member"

"A death eater? So we eat death? How exactly do you eat death?"

"Please James, don't get smart. I would hate to kill you where you stand" Riddle added in, gripping the wand under his cloak.

"Can, I sleep on it?"

"I'm afraid not, you see I have just told you something, I would hate for that old man in the castle to find out. So should you refuse, I will simply kill you here and now. Live or die Potter, the choice is yours."

It seemed like decades had past, without a word spoken rather than the actual 5 minutes gone. The stars in the sky, shining down when a look of determination spread across James' face.

"Well, Tom"

"I already know your answer, I've been reading your thoughts you see. "

"So, you understand that I cannot join your little boys club."

"No, Potter girls will be there as well. Unfortunately one girl will not."

James knew he was speaking about Lilly.

"Leave her out of this Tom"

"I'm afraid not James, you leave me no choice. I shall kill you, and send her into your arms into whatever lies beyond the veil."

James grasped his wand, trying not to think, while Tom too grasped the wand in his own hand.

"Mr. Potter, please do not think that your swift skills on the quidditch field can get you away from the mess you have created here" Voldemort said with his fingers only inches away from his vibrating wand.

"Why do you want me?" James demanded, not letting the better of his fears show through his expressionless face.

"Because you are full blood Mr Potter! Your life has been raised for this moment! So, you can accept fate, and become a death eater on this night.. Or you can be eaten by death before your body falls to the ground..."

The look in voldemorts face, sent chills into James spine. He knew this was the only moment that mattered, the only second he had to make his move. Without thinking, or dwelling on what was to come, James quickly pulled his wand from his pocket causing Voldemort to react as well.

"CRUCIO!"

James was now on the ground, squirming around in pain, fighting every sense inside of his body to keep from crying out into the night.

"YES! YES! SCREAM! THE PAIN FEEDS MY SATISFACTION!"

Voldemort soon lifted the curse and chuckled to himself. He know he was unstoppaple and that nobody could -

"CRUCIO!"

James had managed to get to his wand, the curse struck Voldemort with such velocity that he flew back 10 feet from where he stood. James, held the curse for as long as he could, but something very wrong was going on here.. Even though, the curse struck Voldemort and he knew the pain that was volting through his body... The wizard was far from calling out in pain. He lay on the ground, smiling enjoying the curse.

"YES! I LOVE THE PAIN MR. POTTER!"

These words caused James to lift the curse, for he knew better than to tamper in the dark arts with the darkest wizard of all time. James, began to run for his life for he knew that's exactly what was on the line. At this moment, Voldemort back to his feet aimed his wand at James who was running to the castle for safety. The words echoed into the night, and inflamed the fears inside James.

"AVADA KEDAVRA!"

In the distance James hit the ground, surely he was dead. Voldemort with a sick smile on his face, slowly approaches James with his red eyes filled with triumph and hate. A commotion could be heard in the distance, causing Voldemort to turn his attention to Dumbledore making his way toward him. Dumbledore stopped dead in his tracks to see Voldemort running to the gates, knowing he would be gone before he could reach him. Dumbledore turned his attention, to James laying on the ground motionless. Lilly cupped her hands over he mouth, and ran to James screaming with tears in her eyes.

"James, are you okay?!!"

James began to cough on the ground, the spell had missed him. James gathering his thoughts, looked into Lilly's eyes and began to speak in anger.

"He's a murderer Lilly, he wanted to kill you!"

Dumbledore has something etched onto his face, that many had never seen. It was hate, it was as if he had been the one attacked.

"Attacking a student? How could I have been so foolish"

Dumbledore leaned down to survey James as quite suddenly We see James Potter, years later sitting against a stool staring off into space, when Lilly walks into a door behind him.

"James, where have you been?" she yelled to him.

"What? Oh I'm sorry darling"

"Are you thinking about that again?"

"I can't help it, it just happens"

"James, that was years ago. Please, let it go"

"I'm sorry"

"It's okay, just go grab some boxes" Lilly added in, now laying some boxes of her own to the ground, causing James to look on in anger.

"Lilly Potter! You are 7 months pregnant! Why are you lifting up anything? Use your wand!"

"We don't need a wand for any of this. Harry is going to be fine"

"Harry? Again with this name stuff, I am telling you Lilly, if you would just listen to me, for 5 minutes!" James insisted. "I just want the baby, to have my name" James added in with a smirk, now leaning against the counter.

"Well, can't we compromise this?, how about his middle name be James?"

"And for the first?" James demanded.

"I don't know, something we both agree on." She added with a defiant nodd.

"Okay, on the count of 3 we both say a name."

"That will never work, we will both say a different name." Lilly said laughing

"Yeah, you are right. Well, we have a few more months to decide on this, yeah?"

"Yeah" she said. "Now, unpack some of these boxes would you?" she added in.

"I swear, Lilly. You would think you didn't even know magic" James chuckled, creating a smile across Lilly's face.

"It's not that.. We just don't need to whip out our wands every time something needs to get finished."

"Well, you just sit down and let me "magically" get all this done"

Lilly, half smiling and shaking her head in humorous disappointment moves on in thought, ignoring what was previously said.

"We need to call Siruis later"

At that moment the hoot of an owl could be heard in the distance, the owl entered the living room dropping a single piece of ripped parchment.

"Looks like there is an urgent Order meeting tonight"

"Urgent?"

"Well, it only seems urgent..."

"Must we go? We have so many boxes to unpack"

"I'm sure we can miss one meeting"

Lilly begins to rethink not going to the meeting almost immediately. The message of worry across her face became obvious.

"Lilly we don't have to go, Albus told us before to get our home situated before fighting off evil"

James, liked to say the word evil in a spooky Halloween manor, to make Lilly smile.

"Lilly, we will skip the meeting.. Besides, what's the worst that could happen?"

The words cut through both of their spines like a cold needle, because they both know something else could happen, something much worse. Something both James, and Lilly Potter wanted to avoid.
