Bit disappointed with the lack of reviews from fans in the UK, come on, let's 'ave it, there was enough of you there..
I couldn't make the Sunday show (went Friday & Saturday). Did they play anything different, or was it same set?
Friday was just okay for me, was stood at the side near the gents loos and was surrounded by an annoying group of people, plus band were 40 minutes late to the stage, sound wasn't all that, but did improve when I moved towards the middle. There were a few screw ups, notes missed, etc, but the crowd were loving it.
Saturday had a much better position by the downstairs balcony bit, still surrounded by irritating people (by this I mean plastic goths/punks), who buy there little DIY kits from Camden market and think they're it. They don't know most of the songs, talk all the way through the gig, get as drunk as possible, fill your air with fag smoke, then puke up.. But anyway, enough of my whinging.
Tonight's gig was the best I've ever seen them, I'm still buzzing. Sound was great, performance bar one track which Daron screwed up which was funny, they relentlessly hit us with a barrage of the best rock music ever. My neck is still aching sore, Cigaro for me was almost a blackout, I nearly headbanged my head off man, what a song. They came on stage on time tonight. Light show was great, glaring and in your face like the music.
They did Sad Statue for the first time too. I have to say I would have liked to have heard more of the new songs, was a bit gutted not to get Old School Hollywood. I know they have to do old faves, but could probably drop a couple of oldies. The new songs are amazing live and am so grateful they did Question; Serj played acoustic sitting down, it was mega. Also noticed that Daron was pretty subdued, especially compared to the Astoria gig, is it the Samson affect with the hair you think? I would also like to add that I think Serj has an amazing voice range. How many rock/metal singers do you know that can growl, scream one minute, then sing beautifully in tune, have so much passion and conviction? Question just makes my hairs stand on end.
No encore again, never see them do one, has anybody?
The rest of you still to see them in the UK, please keep the posts coming in.
Cheers,
Fudge in London |
