recently i discovered that soad changes their tuning of the guitar and bass just hear aerials in bdo 2002 and aerials in bdo 2005
since mesmerize came out they changed it from drop d down3 [CGCFAD] to drop d down 2 [C#G#C#F#A#D#]
all of mesmerize songs are in the new tuning
same for bass
(i like aerials better in old tuning) |

| I didn't notice that. I have a bootleg from the may 10th 2005 show, and I dropped my guitar in Dropped-C tuning and played along with aerials and most of the songs..it sounded right on..but maybe they played in dropped-C that night because they were playing old stuff. |

| Daron said that some of the songs were in that tuning in the guitar world interview. He talked about how he took it up a half step because he is playing in standard tuning when he practices and he likes standard so he said he likes it better up a half step. |
