hello...
i am planning to buy a guitar, and it will have to be cheap and last me a while. (250-300$). After i am sure i will get one, i will take lessons, but that is later.
Now, i am wondering what is a good guitar for beginners? I've been looking at some of the guitar brands websites (Fender/Ibanez) and they all look pretty cool; i just wanna know if they will sound good to play mostly SOAD-ish metal and other kinds of rock.
I thought it was cool that Daron had an ibanez, i never knew that. His guitar is awesome though. |

Ah, I will haunt this board.. =)
I'm looking to buy a guitar as well, you see. However, I've got no plans to join a band or anything along that line, just to do some plinking on my own. Learn the basics, try to play some SOAD and other rock/metal music. I'm thinking about getting just an ordinary classic guitar though. Would that be a stupid idea? I'm telling you, I really have no clue about guitars. =) Any help would be nice.
By the way, SDSJ=SOAD, I'm not trying to steal your thread, I just thought it would be silly having two threads about guitar-buying. =) Hope you don't mind! |

| Well my first guitar a few years back was a Squier Stratocaster. It came by itself without a case or anything and cost I guess 150 dollars American. If you're just starting go for a starter pack with like a guitar, amp, case ya know. So if you don't pick up on it you won't throw too much money away. Then you can upgrade your guitars and experiment with pickups and other amps and so forth. I hope i helped. |
