Thats what I heard in the news today. Homosexual couples are from now on allowed to get married in the state of California. The first weddings have already taken place.
IMO thats a big step forward since its only legal in two states of the US at all and I hope many more will follow.
Whats your opinion on that?! |

God bless them.
Gay people suffer way too much discrimination. I hope that one day people will be as shocked that gay people weren't allowed to marry in the US as they should be that black or interracial couples weren't allowed to marry in the US. Black people weren't allowed to legally marry each other in some Southern States until the 20th century. |

I think this shows how people aren't really true to their religion anymore, defying what has been written in the bible. Christianity has become more of a trend and more of people being so eager to try and show this "I'm a nice, perfect, loving person"-thing.
But anyway, nice for the gay population in the US, finally getting further with getting the same rights as everyone else, which is about fucking time /salute
(my little rant in the start is 100% against christianity and how out dated the religion is, it's better to just drop it all, throw organized religion out of the window, and just be real individuals believing whatever you want, I have nothing against gay people ) |

I was late from lesson 'cause of that. *cause of the news.
Many people have said that California is kinda setting example for other states and it decisions have huge impact of other states' regulations.
I think one of the best comments I heard about topic was that if we legalize gay marriage we should make it legal to have several wifes, and that guy was serious, I was like wtf these things has do with each other.
People seems to be very happy of it, like I think that it was legal in California years back, but then it became illegal and all marriages nullified. Wasn't there now some risk that it could happen again? In November?
We talked about gay marriage in history class and it was funny to notice that basically every people, laws, have this liberalist base but still in cases like drugs, or gay marriage people are very conservative. |

No no.. I mean, I thought they were legalizing it or DID legalize it a year or two ago. Maybe that was England, but I could have sworn they did so in California, too. |

| In the USA sexual themes are disputed and here in germany is everything ok about that. But if you talk here about voilence they all are crazy and forbide everything. Why the goverments just don't see that both things are fine? Gay marriage is fine for me, I don't see the problem with it. And if it's because religion the goverment shouldn't be so oldschool. Just a minority of people are still interested in god and that stuff, at least here in germany. |
