I was talking to my friend about Serj being a poet and how talented we think he is, and later this just sort of flowed out onto the paper. I just... wrote I didn't really think about it at all, so it's pretty random. I don't know what the heck it means, but feel free to interpret it any way you want. Oh... and if I ever meet Serj someday I'm going to give this to him. I think he would appreciate it.
Life
A word to a man,
Red wine in a sea of lemon-lime.
Chrysalis hanging on a leaf,
The butterfly within,
Longing to be let free,
To stretch its rainbow wings
And take flight.
"Pretty Penny with ten different phrases!"
But the meaning is lost in her synthetic voice.
Mama's not coming home tonight,
But she's watching you from the stars.
Do you hear her voice in the wind
And feel her touch in the gentle rain?
A black woman, crooning a song of her people
To the infant in a crib of straw.
The mysteries in a cat's eyes,
And laughter of the dancing dolphin.
Human life is defined by choices.
Everyone begins with a clean slate.
It's up to you to decide
How to fill it. |

I say very good. You have amazing talent.
I can tell you're very influenced by Serj's poetry style. If i hadn't know better, i might of thought it was written by Mr. Tankian himself |

Thanks very much for the compliments. I'll keep it safe for awhile, but I doubt I'll ever meet Serj because I live all the way across the country.  |
