10th October here in the UK sees release of the new single 'Galang 2005 remixes' by New Yorker Mia on XL records.
CD2 will include a Serj Tankian Remix. Interesting to hear what this'll sound like as Mia as far as I'm aware is a dance artist. She will be touring with Gwen Stefani in the US soon. That's all I know about her. |

Looks like a little mix up.
M.I.A. (which stands for Missing In Action) is a Sri Lankian girl who has lived in the UK for quite a while. So far she has released one (critically acclaimed) album by the name of Arular, on which the last track is called Galang. Maybe the album was released on NY label XL Records? I would describe it as world/dance and some people call her the female Dizzee Rascal.
When I first heard something by M.I.A., I thought Serj would love it, so it's funny that he's going to remix a song of hers. |

MIA`s album is probably the album I've listened the most this year (along with SOAD Mesmerise obvisouly), her music is excellent and she is very politicised....
I wonder what the remix Serj Tankian did sounds like...? I'm sure it is good |

I knew that song, and one day I heard a heaps cool remix on the radio, and I thought,''Hey this is a good remix, I wonder who did it?'' and the dude on the radio said,''OK, that was a remix of M.I.A.'s 'Galang' by Serj Tankian from System of a Down, and I was just like OMG!!!
Anyway, I like the remix better than the original
I just googled Serj Tankian+M.I.A. remix and on the first thing that comes up you can download the remix |

| I bought the EP galang about 2 weeks ago, with Serj's remix and it is excellent, he did a very good job with that song, it is even better that the original version!! (ok I have no credibility, knowing I'm a huge fan of SOAD and Serj). lollll but seriously he added some percussions, beats and electric guitar, very funky! |
