Wooow what can I say...Just got back from SOAD!! It was so goooood I blew my load just now hahaa.. Before I got to the concert though I forgot the tickets at my sisters place. So I went back to pick them up and then I realized I just locked my keys inside my car!!... It was 5:30pm and I was pretty pissed off at my self. 6:45 comes by and I paid 40 bucks for the guy to unlock my door and me and my friend are off. We get to the concert at around 7:15 and the first supporting band "Hella" I think anyways were playing. We were on the floor and it was pretty empty at the time so I was relieved. I didn't really pay attention to this band so I'll move on.
My friend and I find our way to the second row on the floor. The Mars Volta came on and they were pretty damn good. Near the end though I was getting a little bit bored but it was mainly due to the anticipation of soad. Volta left the stage and then the Mezmerize banner raised and the floor filled really fast. I found myself against the rail partly due to this one drunk ass who finally got kicked out cause he was threatening a guy next to him. Anywaays the lights dimmed down and on came Daron!!
I was freaking out. the pit was insane, everyone was trying to get to the rail but I just wouldn't let go. There were girls that were digging their nails into my back and a couple slaps to the head but I wasn't going anywhere! I stayed there the whole time while my friend was pushed out and left the area which pissed me off haha. Anyways I swear to god I was singing every verse to every song. I was in heaven really. And the best part was Daron I mean freaking Daron during the whole concert looked at me and gave me the best facial expressions!! His look during the interlude on War? where Serj sings about the soilders marching on. I was singing along to and Daron was looking right at me! He did this many times to songs like Kill Rock N Roll since I knew all the lyrics! But the best part was when Daron pointed at me during Cigaro while saying "My cock is much bigger than yours."
I went nuts. I couldn't believe he did that. Shavo came to my side 3 times which was freakin awesome! He looked straight at me at one point, but during the time he was jamming in the middle with Daron and Serj during Suite Pee, right before his big bass part he gave everyone around me the horns and we all did it back but then he quickly switched from doing that and giving the finger at which point I gave it back. He then looked straight into my eyes and nodded his head! That was freaking amazing as well. Next came on Sugar and before this part Daron did the lets get ready to rumble bit which I totally knew and did it with him. Sugar was apeshit I just let my voice all out. Then it ended and I was sad! ahaha But truly it was amazing as it started out being crappy(locking my keys) to seeing SOAD up close and personal! Wowww I still cant believe it.
The setlist was the same as previous shows along with My My Hey Hey cover before Kill Rock and Roll, and Sultans of Swing before Aerials. Overall the night was one of the best in my 19 years of living! Alsooo Daron said a bunch of little things that were hilarious but for the life of me I cant remember!! ahhh I hope somebody tape recorded that! Thanks for your time peaeeace!!! |

I thought Hella sounded pretty damn AWSOME, i totally loved their sound.
Mars Volta singer l00ked and sounded like a damn girlthough, but they were alright!
Soad's intro fucking OWNED! His shadow was like 20 feet tall on the curtains! He sang off Soldier Side beautifully, then the curtains fell and EVERYONE went crazy! BYOBB!!!!!!!!11111111111

EVERYONE was smokin weed and drinking beer! my shirt smells like weed, and my parents accuse me of usin haha...And my throat HURTs like hell, i screamed every single line of every song too! even freaken Violent Pornography l0l, and the chorus of Sugggestion (OUCH!)at points i screamed so hard, ppl around me were starin l0l.
Daron was awsome! he kept sayin a bunch of shit! Gave sweet intros to almost EVERY song!!!1
Shavo was running all over the damn place, as did Daron! Serj was friggin wild. Sometimes his voice seemed like super high :S
YAYYYYY!!!!!!!!11 Mr.Jack was FUCKING AWSOME.

It was beautiful, during the soft songs, LOST IN HOLLYWOOD, ATWA, Soldier Side and some others, all the SMOkers, took their lighters and waved it around slowy, just AWSOME! i almost friggin CRIED!1111
Any ways, AWSOME SHOW! YWAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!11
The last song they played was Suite Pee. I think they shoulda finished with SOIL or Lost in hollywood though 
But either way, KICK FUCKING ASS!
After the show, ppl were still singing and clapping and runnin drunk and stoned!!1
People in their cars turned up SOAD tunes!~ and ppl sang along!!1 omg!111
Then basketball jocks in cars passin by were yellin
"soad!11 haha Wooo!"
Some ppl kicked cars. I never saw a fight breakout. But i know they did happen..
Awsome show. Absolutly amazing. HOW COULD GREENDAY BE RATED HIGHER THAN SOAD ON LIVE PERFORMANCES?! THATS BULL!!!11

Holy mother fucker was that ever killer!!! Didnt really care for "Hella" nor "The Mars Volta". I was there for SOAD and holy crap did they give one HELL of a show, from Daron's solo's to serj's killer vocals to shavo's standing on speekers and lying on the floor during the "lie naked on the floor" part in sugar to john's drumming skills it was the best time of my life!!
it cost me like $300 to get there but it was all worth it and i WILL definately do it again, I can now die happy!!!  |
