I saw this show also - it's cool to see someone else from the Cities on the forums. My impressions were much like yours - Hella was terrible and the Mars Volta was just ok. I was way up on Daron's side of the stage and I thought everyone on Shavo's side was super lucky because he was so responsive to the crowd. I was a little surprised that they didn't speak to the crowd in between songs more, though - and I would have liked to hear Serj speak more. My biggest disappointment was that Serj seemed to be phoning in his performance at times - like during Revenga and Prison Song, it sounded like he was slurring the words - and not very engaged. But then again, ATWA and Question were beautiful. I think if there's a next time I'm going to try to brave the pit on the floor. Definitely the best arena show I've ever been to.

I feel like this record is really balanced in a lot of ways with thoughts, with ideas, with music, and in terms of social or political [topics] or anything like that
