Right quick story:

When i was in secondary school (i left last year) because i was a goth i used to be picked on really badly and accused of horrible things (like when my rabbit died i was accused of performing some devil ritual on it) and i started sliting my wrists (i still have the scars all over my arms) and slipknot didnt really help so wen my friend Amy-Jaye got me the Aerials single she told me to listen to it. Coz i had neva listened to it before the first time i really liked it and it made me feel so much better.

The lyrics to me mean that we can fall down at great hieghts and feel broken but we can always get back up again and try our best not to give in to people like them (the people who bullied me)

I stopped slitting my wrists and carried on being who i was. I get depressed alot still but each song has a meaning to me. The main songs that hav stopped me from killing myself are ego brain, aerials, lost in hollywood, spiders, chop suey, ATWA, streamline, roulette, sad statue and question.

All the band members are and inspiration to me.

You may think im a loser but i mean it wen i say that soad saved my life.

xxxxx Rolling Eyes

it's exactly the same thing for me (that the songs helps me, but i dont cut my wrists).. just one bad thing was that Aerials made me get anorexia (the song made me be skinny, i thought it was a good thing), but then Aerials made me gain weight again Smile

nice little review of soad. i think theyve saved alot of people, not just through music, but through who they are and what they stand for.

You're not the only one who has been inspired by System of a Down. A couple years ago, my mother died on December 25 and I lived with my brother and step father afterwards. My step father always yelled at us and nothing was good enough for him. I eventually moved, but when I did, I found out my step father was wasting money on drugs to get his fix. Later I paid more attention to System of a Down's music and felt muh better about life, I feel I can actually make a diffrence.

If someone said : "your music will live forever but you won't wake up tomorrow morning" I'd be like : 'Okay.' That's very fair to me.”
