Amazing to read all these stories.

Shows how fucked life can be, glad to hear people becoming stronger from music.

When my best friend died in a car crash last year I turned to System of a Down to help escape the pain.

^^ Its really amazing to read all this, and somehow I feel similar... in January, when my Grandma was very sick and we all thought she would, I listened to SOAD and ETD a lot and it seemed to help me... and even in daily life, when Im sad or angry or just hate the whole world again, their music makes me feel better and get rid of my agressions and pain at least for some time...

Thank you SOAD for everything *hugs*

Deanna that's really sad I'm sorry you had to go through that Sad And Silke I'm sorry about your grandma I know what it feels like my mom had cancer a few years back but she's all better now though.

Well nothing really that tragic has happened to me but SOAD got me into rock music, because before

System I used to listen to ALL rap and I simply got bored with it so my friends got me into system
of a down and I can't go back to rap... (Which is a good thing Very Happy) So yeah in a way SOAD has saved me. Smile

^^yeah they saved you from yourself lol^^

My friends didn't become SOAD fans with me. I was the 1st. But after 2 years of constant SOAD playage they became fans. 7 people so far! It's great to hear that your mother's ok. My grandmother had cancer too, but she's fine now. Razz

soad is all i ever listen to anymore really. well, i listen to alot of other things, but i never get tired of system like i do with other music.

it's really easy to get lost in their music, there are absolutely no empty air whenever i listen to them. it's helped me drown out many things, but also think about them. it's diverted my attention from my parents' separation, and i know it's really weird to say, but their music has become like a best friend to me. the only person i identify with moved away a few years ago and i only see her once or twice a year and it's really difficult to find the time to be able to talk to her. really, the past couple of years i've only really talked to a few people in my school *i'm not that social* and my 'best friend' *or person i just followed around for whatever reason, i don't know anymore* was a piss-poor excuse for a friend. Confused yea, i basically messed myself over in the social department...

basically, i escape to system of a down. they've done alot for me, opened my eyes, inspired me... the list goes on and on, really. i know my problems are nothing compared to others, but i've never told anyone this or anything like that and my head has been threatening to spew lately *ipod with all songs died so i'm dying myself* Speachless sorry for my rantings haha.

wow, this is really inspirational.
Soad has saved many people, this is true, i think everyone has had an experience where soad has lifted them up. They are truely a remarkable band.

I was in a really-really shit mood (like I am now), like 2 years ago.. So I thought about maybe heavy music would do something good for me. This was the first time when I enjoyed metal. Before that, I had listened pop, rap and everything that was hit that time... And System... well it changed everything. I had forgotten all my problems, just felt that this music was so different.

Unfortunately, it won't happen anymore. As I've grown up a bit, my mind has gone in a very negative direction. I can't see no beauty in anything. When I now listen to SOAD, I just start to think about that they made this just for the money. And that I will get bored with the tracks on the CD. This thinking destroys everything, and I can't change it...

since I was a child, music runs through my head , and sometimes it's my worst enemy. It keeps me awake. It loops
