I was there!! And you say Metallica was there too?? o_O wow...cool... i didn't know. I wonder if that affected System's performance....you know... if it made them a little nervous or something...? Especially Daron cos he once said that he was nervous to play after Slayer...
Well anyway it was my first System show and it was the greatest thing ever! I'm still mesmerized by the experience... *sigh*
Unlike most people i thought Hella was better than TMV... the singer was cool haha X) the drummer played a little bit too loud though.. but System sounded great! they played every single song just so PERFECTLY it was unbelievable! Daron saw me pointing at him while singing along to "...there's something wrong with YOU" and he just smiled haha (don't get me wrong Daron there's nothing wrong with you really...u know i love you!) I sang along almost all the time and I was so into it that time just flew by... it was over too damn fast :'( I have to see them again!
Oh and I got Daron's guitar pick guess if i'm happy or what!!!?? X) it has the same picture on it that was on Steal This Album!'s cover (the Daron version) the only difference is that the other pair of legs now has a DICK! ahHAHAH

I know I'm a little late for this review, but still I must pay homage!
We got to the arena while HELLA was still performing. And aside from their drummer, I couldn't really tell if they were that good or not. I had heard some not so good reviews about them from System fans, but I kind of didn't want that to taint my view. They were alright I guess.....I'd have to hear them in a smaller venue to be sure.
Then The Mars VOlta came on and they were pretty good. I was actually quite surprised  . The guitarist was jerking around the stage in some 70's burgundy suit....like he was having spasms.......and the singer...well, he was certainly DIFFERENT!!!!!!!!!!  He was a combination of James brown footwork, with occasional falls to the ground where he did this centipede like rub against the floor, then would get back up and fling his mike around. He sort of stayed on one side of the stage while the guitarist worked the other side....his voice was, uuuhhh, incredibly high.....  They did this one song that switched back and forth from driving rock to slow intoxicating salsa/spanish grooves.......sweet as hell.
Ok...so really I liked them, and was glad to see them, but after a while I just wanted to see Serj, Shavo, John, and Daron....so I was getting anxious, and I really think the rest of the audience was too....you could feel it in the air!
So they finish......then the lights come back on and they change the big curtain,or whatever it was...with those 2 eagle things on the left and right side that mars volta had up (those who were their KNOW what the hell I'm talkin about) and then they put on the cover of Mezmerize....with the clock and the third eye and shit. Everybody starts screaming.....
but the lights are still on and they are still playing random ass intermission music.....everytime a song went off people started screaming hoping it meant SOAD was coming on.....but no, they played with us for a while.
Then FINALLY the lights go out....oh the ROARRRRRRRRRR and you hear the Soldier Side playing and see this big ass shadow of Daron. His voice cracked a little at the beginning of the song but he got on point IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh the audience went up in FLAMES!!!!! People rushed the floor hopping over those gates...lmao
from where I was I could see pits forming that looked like random tornados...then there were all these puffs of smoke coming from the audience...it looked like different tribes sending each other smokes signals!!!!!!
Shavo was all over this speaker fuckin with people...smokin.....trying to get people to clap....
Daron was giving the world the middle finger while he twirled around in a circle......going a little crazy!
Serj did a little two step and shook his hips around....then did some right left arm dance......he did a good job of reserving his energy and voice.
John was back there TEARING THE DRUMS UP!!!!!!!!! MY GOD THAT MAN CAN PLAY!!!!!!!!!!
Daron was all like...."What''s up Oakland.....Oaktown 357......" I didn't realize Metallica was there.....I didn't know what the hell Daron was talking about when he called them out like that.
And just something I was thinking as I watched them.....Serj looked very drained.....it's time for him to go home and get some rest. All of them for that matter......despite how tired they may have been from touring, and just the wear and tear that comes with being in that industry in general, they gave a hell of a show. The experience was like WHAT CHURCH SHOULD BE!!!!!!!!! 
I loved it and would go again and again and again. |

| not sure if all of metallica was there, i only saw lars and kirk. they were hanging out in the hallway at the right front corner of the pit.. |

| i just found out that some guy in the mosh pit broke 3 or 4 ribs...crazay to teh m4x0rz yeah i was like wtf when he called out metallica but i found out later on so yeah....and i cant really find any pics of them for the oakland concert.... |

| I was there as well.. I was right in fron tof shavo.. If you were there and you looked in front of shavo and saw a bunch of 17 year olds with long ass hair flying in the air.. that was us. lol |

He also did an intro to "Kill Rock n' Roll" he was like "My my.....hey hey....Rock n Roll is turning gay" lmao Shavo was just all over the place, he was jumping on the speakers, lying down and playing, smoking a blunt while playing... he threw his blunt into the audience!! i want his bluuuunt..... Daron also humped his guitar alot during the show and he was running around the stage alot. Serj didnt do too much but he did have sickass dancing skills. My neck still hurts and my shirt smells like weed and cigareettes and 35 fucking dollars for a t-shirt!!!!!! yeaaah!!!!!!!! Cant wait till i see SOAD again.....
oh and metallica was at the show lol they didnt perform thogh, i think they just watched
i was there! i must agree that hella...well..they hella sucked. mars volta was good though. but if were up higher you could see all the people in the mosh pit just standing there, going like "is it over yet?????" so yeah. pretty good show. BUT WHY DID IT HAVE TO END?!?!?!??! |

| I was effing there too man... that shit was off the HOOK. Hella sucked Hella Balls. It was like noise..on heroine. Mars volta was hella sick he improvised an effing solo for like 340934 hours and 1/2. Then SOAD was effing siccccc wow I cant even describe how ownage it effing was yo. And WTF? Metallica was there? .... the most randomt hing ever |

I gave Daron the rock and roll sign and he nodded at me it was awsome.
