Hey,
im new here so i thought i'd post a review on my favourite album by SOAD.
Suite Pee:
Awesome song, great intro and the singing is very good. Best part of the song is easily the middle where Shavo's bass is awesome and Daron's guitar work very good, capped off by Serj singing " i want to fuck my way to the garden" Very cool indeed. 8/10
Know:
1st song i liked off this album. Highlight is defeniatly the music just before the verse singing begins. The whole start is just awesome, John on the drums, then building up to Serj shouting and then Darons guitar leading into that awesome bit of music which again appears after the 1st chorus.
It drops off a little but still a very good song.
7.5/10
Sugar:
What can you say? The start is just full on and it carries on for the rest of the song. The 'How do i feel' part is awesome and Darons guitar work in the verses is super. 9/10
Suggestions:
Took a while to grow on me. It wasnt until i heard a live version of this song when i loved it. The highlight for me is the bit in the middle where the intro guitar music comes back before exploding only as System could do. Not my favourite, but still very good. 7/10
Spiders:
Great song. Slow and steady before an awesome solo from Daron, the singing is great and it just is a very powerful song.. 8.5/10
Ddevil:
Probably my least favourite on the album for reasons i cant explain, good start and a catchy chorus, but it just doesnt work for me like other songs do. 6/10
Soil:
Disliked it at first, now love it. Pretty bizarre tune but it works well. Love the chorus...fast paced and heavy, and the 'Dont you....realise...." is very cool indeed, especially the drumming during that bit and then the great guitar solo leading to Serj's encore of "why the fuck did you take him away from us you mother fuckers" which is also very cool. 8.5/10
War?
Best song on track. The start is superb and this song fires me up when i listen to it just before sport. Love the shouting of 'we will fight the heathens.' 9.5/10
Mind
At first, didnt bother listening to it as it took so long to get started but it has grown on me and now its a favourite. I love the bit towards the end when the music slows down and just when you think it stops, BANG its back and Serj shouting. Great song. 8/10
Peephole
Awesome is all i have to say. Love the weird 'circus' type music in the verses and then exploding and the chorus and solo after chrous is just great. 9/10
Cubert
Loved it at first, not much anymore. Its pretty catchy song and has an awesome beginning. 7/10
Darts
Defently a favourite. Like sugar, just explodes from the start and the singing is kinda weird and the words interesting. The guitar work in between verses is awesome. Great song, 9/10
P.L.U.C.K
This has grown on me. Not a standout but very good nonetheless. Very cool intro, the 1st minute is great and it finishes very well. Not a great fan of the screaming but hey...what can you do. 7.5/10
Overall, awesome album. Just pure power all the way through. 1 heavy song leading into another and to me, the greatest System of a Down have produced. |

| You didn't bother listening to Mind because it took a long time to get started? Patience, boy! With the exception of Darts and PLUCK (I'd rate them the other way around), I agree. |
