SOADFans: SOAD at Best Buy Burbank, CA |

System of a Down celebrated their official release for their Album
"Mezmerize".
The signing party was made in Best Buy at Burbank, California where many fans
were waiting for their lovely band.
| Daron Malakian surprised the fans by his new hair
style, very short than before (as it was long to his shoulders) now its
barely covers his ears Our Special member Rain, was there and
managed to get her signed copy of the album:
"We waited from 2 all day and They started signing at 7pm and i got mine
signed at 9:30 when I got to see them. and I was green/yellow wristbands
so... and ALL of us got in... I even think the people that didn't have
wristbands behind us got in so... I get inside the door....and low and
behold the first thing I see is the back of
Serj's head... this ball of curls!!! and then I turn and I see System of
a Down and They were all so beautiful...standing right there in front of
me. Then they took my things and then they sent me up the perch"
"The first one was John and he smiled at me and he asked my
name and he signed it and dedicated it to me (RAIN!!!!!) and then next
was Shavo and he signed with his painted fingernails then
Daron...."
"Daron...what a character man. I got to him and set my booklet down and
he just stared at the black tablecloth with his wide stoned eyes and he
took the silver metallic pen and just marked the tablecloth by making
little dots on it for a few seconds and then he slammed his hand on my
booklet and slid it to him then he signed it faster than a hummingbird
second then then pushed it to me and was like 'Next' "
As said before, "Mezmerize" is Disc One of the 2-disc set
"Mezmerize/Hypnotize". Disc Two, "Hypnotize", is expected to be released
late this fall.
Earlier some reports talked about People inside Sony Music are looking
optimistically at 500.000 for SYSTEM OF A DOWN's hotly anticipated
(by fans and retailers) Whether it hits the half-million plateau or not,
the SOAD release is sure to keep rock alive and kicking in the
top reaches of the charts, while Toby Keith is poised to do the same for
country next week in what could be an intriguing culture clash.

OMG! if only i actually stayed. i might have actually been able to see them. but i couldnt. damn! cause i got there around 3. and would've waited in line. i would've. man, i'm so disappointed.

I am for sure going to get fired for skipping work to go to the system of a down concert at best buy at least i got a signed copy too!... suckers

OMG OMG OMG That was AWSOME I wait in line from 7pm the day before and was like 15th in line first people were there at 5pm we all spent the night taking about system experiences and listening to system CDs. I got in with my 3 friends and I started JUMPING up and down going "fuck yea system man, system right there!" And SHavo and Daron looked up at me as was like FUCK YEA! and did the rock hand sign I almost peed my pants, Then I Got to say "thank you" and shake each of their hands endividualy. The only thing was there were no pictures allowed and you could only get one thing signed but you got to choose what they sign, I got my old poster of the live signed( Dron was like"old school" and I was like "Fuck Yea old school fan") other people were getting their guitars signed one guy got his violin sign. IT WAS FREAKING AWSOME>>>>

i just got home to az after going to that event. it was great! they did let you take pix, but only while you were in line, not when you were actually in front of them. i can't find my usb cord for my cam, but i will post pix as soon as i find it. daron gave me a crazy look, definitely a great pic.

It was so worth taking a day off from work to see System.I was there waiting for 16 hours on my feet,but it was all worth it.I had been wanting to meet them for 4 years.I feel so lucky.They are the most coolest people ever.I got to shake hands with all of them and said "thank you".Daron was a little weird.When I went to him to get a signature,he was just staring at the table and then he just looked up at me.He gave this creepy smile and checked me out.I blushed so bad!He's a little strange but cool.Serj was the best!It felt like being touched by a great powerful force.I can now rest in peace knowing that I met my favorite band in the world.It was a wonderful experience I'll never forget!

спасибо, народ. Настроение упало невозможно. рассказали как это было классно - встретится с SOAD.А что чувствуют остальные? а вам насрать. И вообще вы нихрена отсюда не поймете , потомучто по-русски.И вы блин не поймете, что значит жить в России и мечтать о концерте SOAD..это ж две несовместимые вещи!!!Вывод:очень тяжело на душе, ненавижу всех.
