SOADFans: Lyon, France Concert Review |

System of a Down played Halle Tony Garnier concert at Lyon. France yesterday

The Mezmerize painting was watching the crowd from the black curtain hiding the stage. And then it began : 'Soldier Side' and Daron’s shadow singing behind the curtain… until it fell down and they really kicked off the show with 'BYOB', which drove the crowd insane…
so much that after the first minute of the song the barriers protecting the stage broke down under the people’s pressure. So SOAD had to stop the show, Serj asked everyone to step back, and Daron tried to calm down the audience with a mellow love song, "Lemon Song" by Led Zeppelin, but he replaced once the words « I will always be loving you » by « I will always be fucking you »… so daron-ish :)
SOAD had to leave the stage, but they came back ten minutes later and resumed 'BYOB' exactly where they had stopped it, which was powerful.
During the first half of the show, Daron and Serj were very calm, not moving much. Shavo was the only one walking on the stage from side to side, headbanging.
He looked delighted and was smiling to people. The whole band got wilder after a while, the best parts were probably Toxicity (Daron mimed « eating seeds as a pastime activity » in such a way that he looked like he was eating something else… I will never forget his face), '
'War ?' with a great interlude and 'Sugar' of course !!!! Daron had the same haircut as on the Burbank pics. So, sorry guys, no mohawk cut.
Sadly, there was no encore, which disappointed the crowd a bit. But the show was really awesome. The sound wasn’t perfect, but the setlist was really great (same one as the previous shows) and the way they went through it with only small breaks made the gig intense.

I think it wasn't 'Lemon Song' that Daron played, it was rather 'Thank You' by Led Zeppelin if I remember well "I would still be loving you" oh yeah baby, I would :)

I was at the concert at Lyon and it really kicked major asses! What else can a fan say about SOAD anyway? only two dates in France, and that might be why the crowd was so damn crazy. The security crew was quickly inefficient to handle the mass of people sneaking into the pit... But it was an awesome show. RIP to the unfortunate one of us in the crowd....

Yes it was "Thank you", when i said "Lemon song", i confused with the track before this really good song in Led zeppelin II. Sorry for this wrong info, I will fuck myself with 2 baseball bat and dring some stuff for apology.

hello
i was at this show, it was really excellent. We had luck because they were about to stop everything because of the mess there was.
The bad news about this concert is that a 22 years old guy died during the show... sad but true

yo! I was to this show too and i think it's really the most amazing rock show i've ever seen even if it might have been a slaughter on the first songs, excitation being so strong. I especially enjoyed revenga . It kicked my ass so strong^^. 26songs,2 hours of real great show, but why no chick'n stew,it should have been funny. Is the song "kill rock'n roll" available somewhere? I can't remember the rhytm. ty o_O

Yeah i was at the show! Fed-up wiv everyone saying it was LEMON SONG......no it was THANK YOU!! the guy who died was high on drugs....he was gonna die one day! his choice, his death! i feel that they don't interact wiv the crowd as much as in english speaking countries! shame!! KICK ASS SHOW!!!!! i wanna c 'em again! I got an adress to Download pics and vids of Lyon! :p :D
