Well this revew is taken form the web www.ultimate-guitar.com
REVIEW:
Sound: Serj really proved his skills as a singer by using all kinds of voices. I one moment he would be singing calm and harmonically and in the next he would grav 2 mics and start screaming with his monster voice. He really did great. What amazed me (since I've never seen them live before) is that Serj picked up a guitar at some of the songs. Like Aerials, where he did a backup electric guitar, and on Question where he played an acoustic one. I really didn't expect this, but it was a great add-on to the sound. The sound was really good, and the instruments were all possible to hear well as the sound also was very balanced. The only thing about the sound, was that the bass at some points was a bit loud, and we kind of lost the other instruments in the loud bass. But this only happened a couple of time, and didn't ruin my overall impression, or the appearance of the show.
Perfomance: We (me and all the other people in the audience) loved them! Everyone was singing along and screaming like maniacs whenever a part we all knew well came along. I could really see the band enjoying the crowd and the way they got us going was the best part of the show. They played some songs from "Mezmerize," but mostly from "Toxicity" and "System Of A Down."The light effects were cool, but those were the only effects. The band was very alive though, and had their own show up there.
Overall Impression: Norway, Oslo, Frognerbadet, 17th of June. This was a part of the 4 day Norwegian Wood festival. There were no spesific warmup bands but the 3 other bands that played that day were: Wednesday 13 (horror-metal kind of thing. Decent, but the sound wasn't balanced). Stonegard (Norwegian underground metal/hard rock band. At least they got the crowd going). Gåte (folk metal from Norway, they were great live and did a very good show). I loved the show, the rain was heavy at times and the atmosphere was so great. Nothing to hate about it. I payed about 400 Nok which is the same as about 58$, it was worth the money. I would have payed that much to see System Of A Down alone too. I always enjoy the moshing, and when bands get the crowd going. Those were the best moments. I would go to their next gig if I could. If they ever return to Norway, I will go the gig. Overall: excellent! The ones of you who are going to a gig with System Of A Down close to you, you've got something to look forward to.
The tracklist was as following:
01. Soldier Side - very good, Daron started the show up alone. The crowd sang with him.
02. BYOB - also very good, the mosh pit became an area of death as everyone went berserk. The atmosphere was brilliant!
03. Revenga - I remember screaming this song like a mad, and so did everyone else.
04. Science - very good, it was the start of a very lively number of songs.
05. Kill Rock 'n' Roll - still lively, people were jumping and moshing all over.
06. Suggestions - people were still crazy and alive!
07. Psycho - the last of the "lively 4."
08. Chop Suey - this is the point where it took off. This song was expected and was awsome. The band hardly got a moment to sing for themselves.
09. Cigaro - one of my favourites, I was screaming with every breath I had and the crowd was totally crazy! And once again we matched the band in Decibels.
10. Mr. Jack - not much to say about this one, else than that is was very good. They kept us jumping and screaming.
11. Needles - once again the crowd starting singing as loud as the band.
12. Deer Dance - it was fun to see this one, Serj made it a real show.
13. Aerials - this was the second best one and it was absolutely brilliant. When the intro started we were all screaming so loud our throats were blasted. And when Serj picked up a guitar and joined Daron in the legendary(for all SOAD fans) riff then things started up for real again. The floor(by now a muddy mess after all the rain) was alive!
14. Holy Mountains - at this point, my back was sore, I had been fighting for about 4-5 hours and I really couldn't enjoy this one and the 4 next songs that much. Still I jumped and screamed all I could.
15. Spiders
16. Bounce
17. Atwa
18. Forest
19. Lost In Hollywood - another one from "Mezmerize" and it was brilliant. I really enjoyed seeing Daron singing solo.
20. Question! - Serj played an acoustic guitar on this one, sounded great and the atmosphere was again raised above the roof (a roof that didn't exist in the first place).
21. War? - Good in general.
22. Prison Song - another one very well known to the crowd. Nice with people singing along.
23. Toxicity - my favourite song (what a suprise) both in studio and at this live show. When the intro started everyone started humming along, and headbanging like maniacs when the riff started. We all sang the entire song along with the band.
24. Suite-pee
25. Sugar - the finishing song, we tried to call them back to the stage after it was over, but without any luck.

Good review. I saw them in Glasgow, except i think they played one more song, but I'm not sure. The Glasgow gig rocked, and I'm sure that did too!

I love how they put a bunch of their songs from different CDs, for the hardcore fans, and not just stuff from Mezmerize.

until a few weeks before the concert i hadn't heard a single song by soad....and i was still a bit sceptic too "that kind of muic" when i went to the festival that day. me and my friend came there mainly too see Gåte, and they were great.. but actually (...my friend's gonna kill me for saying this...) soad was WAY better! they totally rocked, and i had a blast!! i used to hate "that kind of music" until 17th of June 2005.. now i *adore* soad, and tomorrow im gonna buy Mezmerize, and ive also ordered Toxicity online!! im impressed by Serj's voice.. wow.. anyway, i thought i never was goning to like music like that, but now im a huge fan :) and my friends think im weird.. but hah, who cares. i love soad and they rock live.

I was there!!! I WAS THERE!!!!! It is the most mezmerizing moment of my existence. I was heartbroken for weeks after, but now I see it as a good memory that will never be forgotten. Aw, they have to come back! And I will be there!! It was so great! I had high heels on( and forgive me everyone I stepped on!!! I was pushed over!!) but the pain in my feet disappeared the second Soldier side begun. I wanna go back to that day...
