SOADFans: Incredible, kickass, Dallas Show! |

Bad Acid Trip started off the show with 30 minutes of a heavy Slipknot type of roar and sound, then they left the stage and The Mars Volta came on!
Their music was terrific with many types of instuments, including saxophone and a flute that had its own solo! It was described by some people around me as very psychedelic, and I agreed.
Then after 15-30 minutes of waiting (and as the Mezmerize flag came up) (and after several flashes of boobies from fans down on the floor below) The whole stadium went dark and Daron's outline was seen from a spotlight on the long Mezmerize tarp covering the front of the stage. He sang "Soldier Side" mournfully and beautifully before the tarp was flung down and "BYOB" started to blow us away!
I can only remember the first four songs exactly, "Soldier Side", "BYOB", "Revenga" and "Know", but they just seemed to pile up throughout the show!
They sung every song there almost just like it was from the album they came from, then I remember that Daron played the 1995 Demo, "Dam", before "Aerials" began!
"Sugar" was the last song, and by then my mouth was completely dry and sticky from shouting the lyrics to every song including "Kill Rock & Roll", with all the other fans in there! The whole show provided a pleasure that (I swear, believe it or not) even surpassed sex. It was so breathtaking amazing and heartstoppingly hard-core, that even now, four hours after the show (as I write this) I am wide awake!

That was an awesome concert.. From what i read theyre coming to san antonio today...too bad im not gonna catch it i live so close to it but yet so DAMN far away

lol..I felt bad for Bad Acid Trip. No one seemed to be into them at all. Not on the rail atleast. Other then that fat bastard who stole John's towel from me, that was easily THE BEST concert I've been to.

WHY!? Why doesn't system come to South Africa! I am soooo unhappy, i wanna see a concert. And we get absolute bullshit eg Avril Lavigne last year... I asked all my mates if she did the cover to Chop Suey but they all looked at me strangely... oh well maybe im just destined to never see system live :(

'sdsj' you're wrong. they've played that song several times back in 2002, i have a bootleg of it (Phoenix, Arizona 2002-02-15). by the way you can't be serious it surpassed sex. seeing an amazing band live can be a huge experience, but seriously... you must be fucking the wrong girl ;]

mars volta was like ugh they were like making me go to sleep,then bad acid trip they kicked ass,then system of a down was like even better!
but then this wasn't at dallas this was at san antonio tx.ha!

I was at the San Antonio concert, and Bad Acid Trip sucked ass. Mars Volta were brilliant, idiot. And System of a Down WAS better than sex....by far. I mean, it's Daron Malakian.

Yes! The Dallas concert kicked ass. I loved it so much. System of a Down put on a great performance, but dont they always? I dont care what you say, Mars Volta are great, and they are even better in concert-just like System. That day was one of my best, so far at least.

HEY I LIVE IN GRAND PRAIRIE AND DALLAS IS 20 MIN. AWAY AND THAT CONCERT KICKED ASS AND MARS VOLTA DID TOO BUT IM A SYSTEM FAN AND THEY ARE THE BEST BAND EVER AND IF YOU DONT AGREE............ FUCK YOU!
