SOADFans: Pensacola Show 8/15/05 Review |

Me and my friend were in the middle of the front row, but kinda to the left so I could be as close as I could to Daron! . It was great! I was feeling Bad Acid Trip's sound and it was kinda strange when the lead singer humped the doll...hmmm...Keith, the guitarist, was pretty good but he had that two pronged beard thing like Daron used to have so I found that kind of annoying. Mars Volta came on and I was overwhelmed with the instruments on the stage! I did not like them at all. Not my style, one huge guitar solo melted into however many songs they played. It was psychedelic for sure, but I'm not really into that kind of music, plus I was getting antsy about System. FINALLY Mars Volta stopped and then there was a long setup for system which I didn't mind. It finally got dark and just like all the other times, Daron was lit up behind the curtain with the album art on it and he sang 'soldier side', followed by 'B.Y.O.B.' which is when everyone went crazy.
I'm not sure about the mosh pits because I was in the front and I didn't really want to look back but there were a good number of crowd surfers. one song I liked hearing live besides the obvious ones was 'Forest'...they all sang that one really well live and it made me like the song even more. Daron was up to his usual antics and Shavo didn't visit the left side of the stage until towards the end. While 'Lost in Hollywood' was playing, Shavo lit up a joint and basically everyone else did too... I loved that they played 'Sad Statue' because that's my favorite song! Everyone there that I talked to really loved the concert. Here's the setlist it's kinda in order, if not completely on order. i got my tickets for the SOAD concert on otc. 5th in seattle already. but ive noticed one thing, everyone says that the mars volta sucked. hehe, maybe they werent such a good idea...

^^^this is because many soad fans don't like the mars volta, live or not. i really love their music, but i guess it doesn't sound like soad's. u gotta be open-minded sometimes...

omg the setlist sounds so fucking awesome! ATWA is great. forest too! the played violent pornography oO? OMG WHAT THE FUCK I AM TALKING ABOUT THE WHOLE FUCKING SETLIST IS FUCKING GREAT :D!

i cant wait to go, im going to see soad this tuesday in jersey. Omg, its gonna be the greatest concert ever!!!!!!. Except for mars volta and bad acid trip, its gonna be fucking rocking out!

the pcola show was phenomenal....excellent, actually PERFECT pits...wonderful crowd. Everyone was so into the vibe was electric. DONT SLEEP ON THIS TOUR!

Me my friends matt and azha were there. Section 103. Sucked being stuck on the balcony. But we rocked our section. (anybody see us, tall skinny guy having seazures, jumping guard rails, with a long haired pearced up guy) how could you miss that. lol But it was spectacular. Serj was hillarious, security pissed me off. It was like nazi germany in there. But it was system so all is well. Bad Acid Trip was simply put a fuckin trip. Great. Next time, im getin floor tickets. It was truly a beatiful show. My first. Im still speach less, and soar as hell. lol. You gotta see this show.

Man i went and saw them in orlando on the 16th, omfg when the BYOB intro started and the banner dropped i got shivers, they didnt miss a fucking beat, they were tearing it up and i caught one of shavos pics, it has his signature on it and under it it says S.O.A.D. I liked the mars volta, they are good if you are into the 70s style guitar riffs, i did not like the Bad Acid Trip vocals but the music was alright when system played i was right in front of Shavo's setup on the rails, i sang just about every song with them, even Kill rock n roll, i was screaming the lyrics as the people around me looked at me all confused like, but shavo tossed his pic into the crowd and i caught it, i swear to god ima get a glass case for it At the show shavo lit up a joint and threw half of it into the crowd, right after he threw his zippo Daron was running around the stage doing his thing, serj looked calm and concentrated, he did his thing, playing guitar and the keyboard for a couple of songs After the show John stood up and threw his drumsticks at the crowd, whoever got a drumstick, congratulations to you lucky basterds

yeah great GREAT show, payed 75 bucks a piece for floor off of ebay and worth every penny! went there at 4 to wait in line to get in the floor, me and my friend were the 8th and 9th ppl in so it was awesome but it ended up that where bad acid trip placed its guitarist was in the center of the stage, so i didnt figure it out completely lol...also i was kinda mad that they played 25 songs and then in orlando they played 27...poor pensacola doesnt get ne respect...did you guys see me? i was the girl with blonde hair that was headbangin the whole entire time front and center hehe...and i was singin all of darons parts that nobody sang and once or twice daron looked at me and i made crazy faces at him to make him smile lol...for you guys that went to the pcola show and had an overhead view, was it crazy on the floor?
