John Dolmayan is special guest in an Armenian genocide benefit show in L.A.
Despite SOULS 2006 being canceled due to unknown reasons, other Los
Angeles-based bands are following in the footsteps of System Of A Down and using
their creative talents as a means of contributing to the genocide recognition
effort.

The Apex Theory, a Los Angeles-based band with 2 Armenian members, has
organized "Izabelle's Scar 2006: An Armenian Genocide Benefit Show" dedicated to
raising awareness about the Armenian Genocide. The band will be joined by
various artists, including John Dolmayan of System of a Down, on April 23
at the Henry Fonda Theater in Los Angeles. Participating organizations include
'Amnesty International' and 'Axis of Justice'.
At the event, The Apex Theory, Harout Pamboukjian, OneSideZero and others
will perform. Aside from rock band performances, there will be spoken word and
poetry readings by Knowledge the Wordsmith (who opened at SOULS 2004), and up
and coming film-maker/poet Armen Christopher Ramon Soudjian (ACRS). The night
will be concluded with a jam session with John Dolmayan (SOAD), P-Nut(311),
Djivan Gasparyan Jr. and other surprise special guests.

Even if I lived in LA I dunno if I would have gone. Apex Theory aren't great, but hey, its gonna be wierd. The old SOAD drummer and the new SOAD drummer together... PS for anyone who doesn't know SOAD back when they were called Soil had the Apex Theory frontman as a drummer, but he left due to the fact that he wanted to be a frontman, so SOAD got John. Little history lesson for you there and also if you knew that, great. Just explaining for the not-so-enlightened among us.

Shotgunjoe.... before you claim to give any history lessons, please get your facts straight. SOAD's original drummer Andy Khatachturian aka Ontronik no longer plays with Apex Theory. Andy left The Apex Theory nearly 2 years ago and he now plays with a band called VoKee(www.vokeemusic.com). Andy left System in 1995 for reasons completely different from the one you mentioned. Also, go listen to Onesidezero (onesidezero.com)... If you like good rock, I think you'll like them.

Andy's a pussy. if he would've got his insticts right, he would of stayed due to the gloryous talent of the band. It's his own fault that he left. Now he's playin for a band tht barely anyone knows. John's still better either way.

SOADShant, I'm sorry for not caring what the hell band Andy is in now, and also, I've read in a lot of places that Andy left for the reason I stated. What reason do you think it was?

There are a few specific reasons and incidents that led to Andy leaving(being forced to leave) the band. I would rather not gossip on here about things like that. I will be more than glad to explain what happened if you somehow private message me. Regardless... the show is gonna be awesome... and don't worry Andy is not involved.
