Houston, TX - July 12, 2006 Review |

Let me start out by saying that it was hotter than hell today. We parked, and
went to go wait at the gates. Just standing there was enough to soak us through
completely. Before I get to System, let me say that the other bands that
performed did VERY well. I enjoyed most of them, though I elected to sit down
and save my energy for SOAD.
When it was time for SOAD to go on, I naturally got very excited. Most of the
crowd did as well. The crowd was awesome. There were lots of people there 'Just
for System'. When System came on, all hell broke loose. EVERYONE was on their
feet, except for the couple next to me who made out for about 3 songs then left
to do lord knows what. I don't remember all the songs, but let me see if I can
make some sort of list:
-Soldier side intro
-Attack
-BYOB
-Revenga
-Needles
-Deer Dance
-Psycho
-Chop Suey
-Kill rock and roll
-Old school Hollywood
-Violent Pornography
-Cigaro
-Lonely Day

The only thing that I really have a complaint about was the fact that it seemed
that the guys were a bit subdued. There wasn't really any crowd interaction,
other than 'LETS HERE IT HOUSTON, TX!' Which was repeated many many times. Not
that I am complaining. Daron didn't seem as crazy, he was very relaxed. Shavo
was the only one, really, running around and acting like he was really enjoying
himself.
There was one point where Daron talked to the crowd and mentioned something
about how people were saying SOAD was breaking up. He then made a comment to the
effect of 'SYSTEM OF A DOWN IS FOREVER!' Everyone cheered. A good time was had
by all.
Over all, wonderful wonderful wonderful concert. At point I found myself
thinking that all of their songs were so clean. I was really impressed how
everything fit together, and there were no slow points to the entire thing. It
was awesome, and probably will always be one of my best memories.

hey, thank you for making me not able to remain calm anymore! All the reviews are driving me mad. I can't wait for August the 9th to see them in Raleigh NC. I was so lucky with my ticket. I still can't believe it is true. Thank God, Daron said these words of redemption: SOAD FOREVER!!!

Good review, but you left out 2 songs. They did Suggestion and Sad Statue in addition to the songs you listed.

i was there at the concert! there was a few moshes but i think there was only 2 or 1 fight in that pit....not really sure. im glad they played some my favorite songs. DAMNIT! i wish i had a backstage pass! i wanted to give Serj a hug. he looked cute in that pink shirt. and he was wearing a 10 gallon hat too. but then durring BYOB, he tossed it towards the backstage part. and then here's something that is freaky yet funny as hell. when he was doing one of his little dances durring i think Chop Suey, or some other one...not sure...but anyway, while he was doing his lil dance, i screamed/yelled: "SHAKE IT!!" and then he did...@@ Serj was so fine! ok im getting over excited again. but i really wish i could relive yesturday. there was a chick next to me and i asked her, "Who's ur fav. member of SOAD?" and she says back, "Serj." my eyes went from excitment to O.O HOLY FUCK! i was supprised she knew his name! she looked about the same age as Daron but about a year or 2 younger. and durring Cigaro, Daron sort of changed the lyrics. he was being waky...and when i say waky, i mean instead of the lyric: "Cant you see that you love my c*ck?" it was: "Can't you see that Serj loves my c*ck?" XD! i laughed my ass off at that. he's so waky. lol those were the songs i forgot! when they started War? i think it was... i asked my uncle Dan, "hey, wut song is this? i forget!" i couldnt hear wut he said back but the concert kicked ass!!! it was so great!

i think the concerts was great shit i was there badass show shit everyone sings every song by them non stop sings good time shit greastest band ever shit....i think they enjoyed there time there also

"Can't you see that Serj loves my cock?" -- yeah that's hella funny. Daron's been picking on Serj a bit more this tour... I'm glad it's obvious they're the best of friends. They hugged onstage! ^.^ I wish I could go to a concert, but I have to wait until my 16th birthday. :'( I'm only 12! I can't wait that long!
