Just got home from two SOAD concerts. Saw them July 11 in San Antonio, Tx at Ozzfest. This was my first time to see them but I could tell there was not a good vibe going on that night.

Daron started off with intro to 'Soldier Side', they went right into 'Attack' and immediately started having sound problems. The big screen was working just long enough for me to get a look at Shavo looking pissed off because his equipment wasn't working right.
They got the sound problems worked out, but everyone sounded out of tune. No one in the band spoke to each other. They hardly talked to the crowd.

Daron did a little speech about television and how they always show Girls Gone Wild one minute and Serial Killers the next. It was pretty funny and it led into 'Violent Pornography'. They played basically the same set as the other shows. They ended with 'Sugar', immediately turned around, walked off stage and the house lights came up. It was kind of a bummer. I was excited that I did get to see them but was surprised at how much they did not seem to be enjoying themselves.

July 12, Houston, TX. Drove to Houston to see SOAD in their non Ozzfest show. Had better seats for this show. Row 4, just outside the pit. Made it there in time to see Hatebreed, they were great. Then Avenged7fold. They sucked. They remind me of an 80's hair band.
Finally, Daron comes on with 'Soldier intro' again. His guitar sounds really clear, his playing is tight. Rest of band comes on with 'Attack'. Kicked Ass!!! Their sound was so much clearer than the night before and everyone was in tune.

Daron was playing guitar and whirling around. Serj was doing his funny little dances. I could not see John AT ALL from where I was standing. Shavo was all over the place like a happy little troll. He even came to the catwalk at the side of the stage, sat down and played his bass. He was so close to us he could have dripped sweat on us! But he kept all his bodily fluids to himself DAMMN!!!!! Daron talked to the crowd about how the rumors of their breakup weren't true and Serj and Daron even hugged at one point. I was surprised to hear them play 'Suggestions', it rocked and Serj even did the weird high pitched voice. They ended the show with 'Sugar'.

Everyone was going nuts! John came to our side of the stage at the very end and threw out a couple of drumsticks. Over all they were excellent and had much more energy than in San Antonio. I'm just glad I finally got to see them live. I will never forget this experience!!! Thank you SOAD.
