John
Dolmayan made an appearance at the Paiste Cymbal booth at the NAMM Show in
Anaheim, California. The renowned Swiss cymbal maker Paiste announced the
introduction of the limited edition RUDE 24” Mega Power Ride at the show.
This special Ride cymbal was created by Paiste’s Sound Development team in
collaboration with John Dolmayan, one of today’s most influential Rock drummers.
His unique and powerful drumming technique drives the internationally acclaimed
band System of a Down
In tune with John Dolmayan’s specifications, the 24” Mega Power Ride “The
Eclipse” features a solid, penetrating stick sound, a roaring wash that’s well
controllable, and a huge bell sound that’s well separated from the overall
cymbal sound.
John has dubbed this Ride cymbal “The Eclipse” as he considers both the cymbal
and the Paiste company to be above and beyond.
A special limited edition of the cymbal will be issued throughout 2007,
bearing the signatures of John Dolmayan and Erik Paiste, and will be accompanied
by a Certificate of Authenticity. A portion of the proceeds from this limited
edition will be contributed to a charitable cause.
RUDE cymbals are entirely made by hand in Switzerland using traditional methods
that have remained unchanged in over half a century

^^ kind of car? I think you're confused. A "ride" is a type of cymbal...look it up on Wikipedia. Beautiful drum kit! So cool that John's taking it round for people to have a look at, too =)

That's just so cool that he got to help develop and name a new cymbal. His influence as a talented drummer reaches well beyond his own band.
